Goose and BS thread but not really any BS

Who reads the whole intro? I'll keep it short. I've always been a Toyota fan. First truck I ever drove was a 1992 Pickup. Fast forward 19 years later, I drove off the lot with a brand new Tacoma. Did a couple mods here and there. Did 8 years in the Marines. Bought it in NC, and then had it in California. California is where I started doing minor mods here and there. Thankfully made it 4 years there without doing the Cali lift! I've learned so much from this site, and from many of the members here. So I figured maybe I could give back with showing what I know. Feel free to ask anything, I'm not an internet War Lord preying upon inquiring members. Seeing as how this is a Colorado thread, you might need to wade through some nonsense to get to anything.

Pelfry will look way better. The Road Armour bumpers make the Tacoma look like they have an odd shaped chin.

Hahaha. I wish it was that easy. Shes crafty. Knows my ways. Someone might steal it someday. Haha.

I've had it for 8 months now. I LOVE it. I wish I could do my whole truck. Saves a lot. I walk on my sliders a lot getting things onto or off my roof and that really prevents me from jacking up everything down there. I mainly got them cause my tires were flinging rocks into my paint. Huge gouges and chips were showing up.

 

I was wondering about your front lift. Did you get horizontal mounts for the reservoirs or vertical ones? I have a set waiting to get installed. Truck looks great.

Varies from place to place. When I lived in Cali they wanted 1200. I got it done for about 700 here in pa. Kind of pricey but so far it's been well worth it. And when they do it, it comes warrantied, so any issues that pop up they'll fix for free. And that's the main reason I had them do it. Cheaper than doing a paint job for the whole thing as well. I definetly needed to hide some rock love down there.

 

Nice rig! How do u you like the X20 winch? Thinking that's the one I'm going with.

 

Ive liked it so far. Havent needed to use it hard though so only time will tell. Ive only had one issue with it so far. about 4 months after install my wireless option stopped working. It would still work wired in though. So it wasnt a total loss. I emailed Smittybilt explaining what happened, they found my order somehow (I didnt order through them) and they send me out a brand new solenoid the next day. That one got a little dinged up on its way, so I showed them pictures and they sent another. Superb customer service so Id recommend them on that alone.

Why all the hate for the Body Armor bumper? Lol. I am in the planning stage of a redesign on mine, and adding internal bracing as well.

 

Just not a good design in my opinion. It it extremely heavy. There are much better designs that flow better and are significantly lighter. Ive had nothing but problems with it. Its just on my list of things to change. To each his own.
