What All Terrain would you recommend?

So what All Terrain with good tread wear and good meat would you recommend for my TRD Bronze Beadlocks? I like BF Goodrich, Cooper, Hankook.

 

Bfg are soo outdated its not funny.

Not bad.... I've left a couple hundred feet of stripes, dug some trenches, GOUGED A RIM, and the tires still look great. Even the sidewalls held up when my rim got GOUGED against some boulders.

Some noise, but its not too bad..... Good balancing, good in rain....... Actually surprised myself with them to be honest.

It's just a sister of the duratrac kinda.... MT looks, AT treadlife

 

Believe so. They have a pretty good following.

I had nothing but issues with Hankook DynaPro's in P265/75/16 and have had zero issues at all with a Cooper ATP(AT3) in the same size.

Curious about the Nitto Terra Grappler as well.

 

Authorities look nice and aggressive. Just won't let Walfart put tires on my nice TRD Rims though

had the factory rugged trail ta's on mine til yesterday. they were so dry rotten, BFG gave me 75% off a new set and got the AT Ko2's. went +1 on the factory wheels and now im looking for a small lift because i surf fish a lot.

 

that was my question, 20k miles, more than half tread life, yet in between all the tread lines, significant dry rot. i do air down to get on the beach but that is the hardest core off roading i do. only thing i can think of is, i work for the railroad, and since january, the truck sits from monday-friday while im away with work.

 

20k is what I had iirc when mine were dry rotted.

BFG rlly is behind on the times on their AT tires.

Did Google search for tire dry rot and only see pics of sidewalls.

My tires had rotting/severe cracking in between every single tread block like it was getting ready to separate.

 

BFG TA's suck, their AT is solid though. They haven't changed the tire in 15 years until now because it's been solid the whole time. KO2's have a reinforced sidewall so it's even stronger. They also have a great tread life and wear really well. I like BFG KO's/new KO2's, goodyear wrangler duractracs, I've heard ood things about hankook and cooper, dynapro's are meh...

That's a poor comparison.... BFG KO's were always a super popular tire because they're good on everything and have an excellent tread life, obviously they can be perfected but it's not like Toyota and how they just didn't give a shit about a rotting frame among other things.

I could see it if the KO's were known to fall apart after 15k miles and they didn't do anything to change them but that is not the case. Obviously not everyone likes them and that's fine but don't hate on them without proper reasoning....

if you look anywhere on the tire, and you see little crowes feet, cracks, and the like, thats dry rot.
not my tires. mine are long gone.

 

Out here in AZ, the KOs don't last. I've witnessed brand new KOs chunk apart on one hill climb.
We have some hard terrain here combined with the heat that makes these tires very poor.

 

That's fair, what At's work best over there?

 

I've been very pleased with Cooper AT/3's. They've been on my Tacoma for about 20 months now, 27,000 miles. They ride well, are quite and give excellent traction in snow and ice. I've only had them in deep mud once and they surprised me. I got into a bad spot hunting that was a lot worse than I realized one morning before daylight. Had I been able to see how bad it was I'd have never attempted it, but I got through.

They don't have the brand name appeal like Goodyear, Michelin, or BF Goodrich. But I've had those in the past and I think Coopers are just as good for a lot less money. They run a $70-$80 rebate a couple of times a year which helps a lot. After the rebate I paid about 1/2 what a set of BFG AT's would have cost.
