Man its like deciding if I want the extended warranty or not.......if you dont get it and need it later.......Its almost like buying a mustang with a V6, and then the 5.0 pulls up next to your new car and you cant hear your own engine anymore. Right then you realized you screwed up and shoulda saved up. Good advice.

I do remember the ONE time I wish I had 4x4 in that Frontier. I buried the front end on accident trying a 3 point turn on a remote dirt road in Davy Crocket National Forrest........and I mean in the sticks. That was not a fun day. I guess I will have to suck it up and be patient to save up a little more cash.

    I don't know if I'd call 3k a slight up charge. That's ~10%

People spend more on rims and tires from the dealer. Plus you will get the extra cash back if you ever trade it or sell it. If you don't, there will be sometime when you need 4WD and don't have it. Then all you will be thinking is "f this truck, why didn't I buy 4WD".

I've been doing more reading. Damn solid point made as far as residual value and the possible need. Didn't mean to hijack the thread......still looking for more SR5 pics to pop up as I have only found a few so far. Guess we will have to wait.

I don't know...My last two Tacomas were 2WD....I Never had a need for a 4x4 with them. One had a locker I never used and I was launching a boat with them. I did have a 4x4 when I lived in Vegas, but I DID go off road with it and through the snow to Brain Head for skiing.

2WD sell as many as 4x4 here. Whereas up north all they sell are AWD and 4x4.

Why is there no DCLB OR 4x4 V6 on the pricing list? There is only DCLB OR 4x4 listed for 34,340. Is that a 4 cylinder?

TRD models have always been V6 , doubt that is changing

You can see a guy sitting in the jumper seat in the Spanish video at about the 20 minute mark.

Yes. Best video review I've seen. That AC SR5 was pretty nice looking. The 3rd Gen SR5 models look way nicer than the 2nd Gen.

Thanks for the link. Doesn't look like they made any changes to the Access Cab rear seat / storage area.

You might also want to check the difference for insurance on a 2WD vs 4WD. In my case it's $23 a month difference. That's $276 per year, every year I own it.

Tack that on with the slight penalty in gas mileage and the fact that I never needed 4WD in my last Taco, no contest.
