The new Oskar Blues IPA just hit Texas today. Should be in your side of the U.S. Already. I've heard great things about it so far

I haven't Asteroid IPA but I've had many excellent beers from Birrificio Italiano that brewed that beer. For those that don't know Italy has had a huge craft brewing renaissance going on for the last 20 years, way ahead of the rest of Europe.

Here is an interesting article on the scene from 4 years ago.

    https://www.beerconnoisseur.com/articles/italys-craft-beer-awakening

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Birifficio Italiano, Agostino Arioli, at his pub in Lurago Marinone Italy. He set us up with 6 courses of food and over a dozen beers to pair. He can be credited to creating the word "Birrificio" by combining Birre with Magnificio (magnificent). So he named his brewery Birrificio Italiano. He was happy to not trademark that word and has allowed other brewers to use it so hundreds of breweries in Italy are named Birrificio Milan, or Birrificio Luigi's, etc. There are now well over 500 craft breweries in Italy.

Drinking some Ballast Point at 6:30am at work earlier in the week. Dead Ringer Oktoberfest marzen lager and Pumpkin Down a Scottish ale with pumpkin. The Dead Ringer is a great Oktoberfest beer...fall seasonal's are always some of my favorites. Pumpkin Down might be one of the better pumpkin beers I have had...not overbearing with spices like most. I am def not a pumpkin beer drinker though. Also had 3 of the 4 canned spirits they are rolling out. Great stuff made with their spirits. They have 3 Sheets Rum with Ginger, 3 Sheets Rum Cola, Old Grove Gin & Tonic, and Bloody Mary (didn't have this as it was not produced yet). All are great and will be a great break from beer every now and then.

Wow didn't expect to have a response like that. I had the Asteroid as a draft in a little back alley bar and I absolutely loved it. Cool story Wads, thanks for sharing.

Ballast has been distilling for quite some time now like many other craft breweries. Craft spirits are now taking off like the beer. They have won quite a few awards with their Devils Share Whiskey. They have a Fugu "taco" series of vodka...habanero, jamaica, piña, and my favorite horchata! Horchata Fugu over ice is very dangerous!!
