Theres pros and cons to each situation. We are buying which is nice since we have been there a few years and probably still will be. But if you only plan to be in one place 1-2 years then i would say renting is a good position.

Now if i want to move to a better state itll be a hassle to sell a house though. But we should get full reimbursement for what we have paid into the house unlike where you would with renting.

Until it needs maintenance and it drains the saving account

I think buying a house is a moronic idea for you.

It isn't an investment since you aren't planning on staying longer then 5 years. No one sees returns on houses in that time frame ever. Especially now. Not unless you dump 10-80 thousand dollars in it to re do half of it. Which you dont have. You'll only see it as an investment if your there for longer then 10-15 years maybe. And that's a maybe.

Houses cost a lot to maintain and lots of time. More so that when added up over three years with your house mortgage payment and insurance will be more expensive for you then renting.

Since you plan on leaving your job within 2-5 years I'm assuming to go to a better one. Having to deal with selling a house is also a pain and you probably would be luck to break even on it anyways.

But whatever. I'll look forward to saying I told you so once again from the side lines..

Im assuming that was aimed at ben?

But i agree only if you plan on staying somewhere for 5+ years or in the general area then would i buy a house. Selling will still be a pain at any time as that comes with the territory.

It can be nice sometimes when it isnt as hot as the sun or freezing balls outside. Probably not much to compare to Wyoming though

It is going great. I have been single for so long because I could never find a girl with similar interest or enjoyed a life outside. She just finished her masters in biology last weekend and works with the toad as well. She signed a lease to stay in Laramie for a year so she is going to be all over my Flickr haha. Including the trip this weekend with Jeff.

You can appreciate a girl that randomly texts you saying "can we build a trophy truck already?" haha
