image.jpg This Tacoma was in a head on collision here in Hawaii yesterday. I can only imagine the impact would've been less had his truck been lifted with a bumper like @Pelfreybilt that would allow the force to be deflected under the cab. Just another reason I believe that armor not only protect the vehicle but the passengers as well.

The head on collision in Hawaii that was posted was a firefighter with the Hono. Fire Dept. His coworkers had to cut him out. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

The next thing you are going to tell me is... Regardless of our trucks being Faraday cages, lightning will still get us?

I'm pretty sure the truck would be totalled even if it had a bumper plate lol.

I hope everyone in that vehicle was ok. Looks like they may have had to cut the vehicle open to get to someone. Not good :/

Yes they had to be cut out. My only thought about reducing injury isn't just a plate bumper as bracing but as a point of deflection. Most front plates look like the front end of a boat. In a head on collision hopefully the force would be direct under or away. I agree in the crumple zones and cushion effect of the stock system but should the collision be with anything other than another truck a bumper may force the other vehicle under or away from your truck. Sadly this crash was 2 trucks head on.
