Exactly. Wilson was great to watch during the preseason his rookie year. With the games not meaning anything they let him demonstrate his ability and then brought the play calling in for the regular season.

As for the records and standings posted, here's a fun stat:

2013 Seahawks 4-0 in preseason, won the Super Bowl.

2008 Lions 4-0 in preseason, 0-16 in the regular season.

Wow, Brady is "willing" to accept at least a one game suspension for not cooperating. What a guy. Anything but admit guilt.

"Tom Brady is willing to miss at least one regular season game as a result of the Deflategate scandal, but the wording in any potential settlement is of great importance to the New England Patriots quarterback.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Brady only if the punishment is the result of failing to fully cooperate with the investigation. As you know, Brady refused to turn over his personal cell phone during the Ted Wells investigation."

He can't admit guilt in anyway because if would leave him open to a possible perjury charge, he testified under oath. That's why they are at a stand still, the NFL wants him to admit some wrongdoing, not just failing to cooperate or obstruction.

True. I believe this latest willingness to cop to 'not cooperating' is his way of admitting guilt without actually admitting guilt. Palms will be greased, and he'll probably end up with a two game suspension depending on the lawyers' wordsmith abilities.

So, what did I learn watching football last night?

    1. The Redacteds oline is below shit. RGKnee was pile-driven into the turf 6 times in 8 dropbacks before leaving injured.

    2. Manziel looks like a scared rookie QB now that he's actually taking his job seriously, and that's a huge step for him. We'll see at this point if he's ever worth a shit as an actual QB at the NFL level...but now, at least, he's reading defenses, making calls, working the reads/progressions and making like an actual passer.

    3. The starting Buffalo and Browns defenses, with the starters all playing (i.e. week 1) are going to be really, really evil.

Just goes to show you about the Browns organization. Bridgewater and Carr were drafted after Manziel and are ascending up as the starting QBs on their teams. Then you have Manziel who is trying to develop into a decent back up.

    Some really cool shit
Manziel probably plays better hungover or drunk. Now that he's sober, he's toast. Probably just realized he plays for the Browns.

Ha ha. It worked for Stabler of the old Raiders. The players used to say he reeked of booze sometimes in the huddle from Saturday night. Then he'd go out and shred defenses.

No kidding. Instead of an O line, they have no line. Then again, maybe the Lions D is all that. RG is another QB that has to fish or cut bait this season, even though he thinks of himself as one of the best in the league.

Could be too learning how to live sober. Nowhere near the same thing but I've been a competitive dart player 15 years and 13 of them sober. For a while sober I was nervous as hell before a match and all we play for is shirts and bragging rights.

He's also learning how to do a VERY hard job in a completely new and challenging way. Most guys in his position, while still newbs, have been reading defenses in some form, and working pass progressions, for a couple years at least.

He's trying to learn it on the go against some of the best athletes in the world. I don't envy his task, regardless of his payday. This is like taking a second year cellist and sitting him down on stage against Yo Yo Ma.

On a serious note, this is why I struggle with my two boys playing football. I played all through JH, HS and had the opportunity to play small college ball... Great video.
