So both headlights (low and high beam) just went out in my Taco - not both at once mind you, they happened within a few weeks of each other. They are the old style sealed halogen headlights which I've never been happy with. The output is pretty low and when travelling on the highway at night I more or less leave the high beams on - and nobody flicks their lights to tell me I have them on, that's how weak the output is! I've heard its relatively easy to upgrade the headlights to more powerful, xeon/LED lights, however I'm kind of a newbie to auto customizing and don't really know if these newer lights are truly compatible. There are numerous options on Ebay - here is one I found that looks like it will boost my light output:

Any advice from those of you who have done this or know somebody who has tried it etc would be really appreciated! It would be a shame to order these, get them shipped to Canada, only to have them turn out incompatible.

    Thanks!

Those are the worst headlights in existence. your better off going to dollar store and buying 3 or 4 flashlights. Heres the disco ball beam pattern you get. 424CB13E-D85E-4EF3-AE60-7FA34B5F1D90_zps_d351c009f26d1d4666b93dc1a87d000551fe8199.jpg

Sylvania ultras and clean those lenses while your at it - add some fogs, cheaper, less hassle and I suspect similar results

What you need to do is completey redo your headlights with a kit from www.theretrofitsource.com , there's a bunch of DIY all over. I did mine and man is my truck just much better to drive at night!! Now all I need to figure out is why my damn dash lights don't work.

You're a little late to the party. I sold them about a month ago for half price. $60 and the guy was very happy with them, sorry!
