    Works great! Granted, I've only opened it twice, and they've only been installed less than 24 hours, but so-far-so-good! After unlatching the hood, you simply raise it a few inches and the struts do the rest of the work.

    I had that malleable stuff too, right where the brackets were supposed to be mounted. I simply offset the brackets by half an inch to sit NEXT to the malleable stuff. Due to that, the hood sits a little higher than the RedLines are designed, but still work great. The hood sits at the EXACT same height as with the original prop-rod. I also used rivets instead of the provided screws on the bottom brackets.
