Yes, when they say from engineering it doesn't mean they took money away from the engineering of vehicles. It means that they found a different way of doing things that cost less.

IE that was money spent before the Q1 report that is now saved. I've been through a few financial statements.

You telling me that in Canada they teach you that positive number (not with - or enclosed in () ) on your Net income sheet is an expense (aka spent) ?
Well no wonder you are such a small country, your bookkeeping is all backwards.:D

No, but it's an explanation of why that money shows up as a positive. It wasn't a cutback, it was a process change that yielded a net benefit to the company. IE Toyota engineered a better way of doing things which saved us money.

No company is cutting 420 million USD from R&D in a quarter. It'd be corporate suicide.

Are you kidding me, look how much we learn. We just learned that in Canada things are backwards when it comes to accounting.. and @7GR even liked @Sterdog post

^ I always like Sterdog's posts. I would "like" his posts more if I have more free time. Conversely, I'd "dislike" your posts until the end of time if TW has such a function.

Drumbrake-caveboy versus seatbelt-bracket-Mike. One is an employed pickup truck chief engineer of Toyota, the other is an unemployed chief trollgeneer against Toyota.

It’s like an intellectual fight between Bill Nye and Forrest Gump.

What do you do for a living BlueT? Unlike you I'm actually university educated, not some backwoods redneck talking shit on Tacomaworld. Toyota didn't save 50 billion Yen cutting engineering expenses, they saved 50 billlion Yen by engineering processes that saved them money. That money comes right from earlier R&D expenses. However you are clearly to fucking retarded to understand that and instead taunt me like the stupid little fucking piece of shit you are.

What kind of University told you that expenses ( spent money, you wrote that they spent 50 billion yen here let me quote again..)

are positive numbers on your Net income sheet? Name it Name them... Name the University that had told you that... :D its Eco101 in US that teaches you how to read Net Income sheet.
I like when you realize you stuck your foot in your mouth and you get angry... Soon you will threaten me to ignore me..

P.S. See you could have just said "Yeah Ok I f ed up, I misread net income sheet" instead of digging itself up.

LOL, yeah it's funny how that works. Our company is trying to cut costs by 20% and yet we still have to leave the lights on at night for security purposes :D.
Good advice :p. Like I said originally, I can't wait for the Tacoma to be out for a few years and this hoopla to die off.
