Looks like it's going to be pretty good. Might even be better than the original. I don't know about this Nick kid though

 

Its going to be frustrating seeing people not know what to do, like kill the drug dealer kid, take his guns and get back to the house!

 

if anyone needs to get shot it's junkie burnout kid. Reminds me too much of Johnny Dep

 

I feel like he's gonna be this show's Carl. He bugged the shit out of me all show long.

 

Overall I liked the episode. Have to agree with the rest of the you about the junkie kid. If he's the new Carl I'm not gonna like it lol.

 

I agree on the slow start, but it's more of a lead-up to where the original series started. Like a real epidemic, it starts with ones and twos and grows exponentially, so it seems realistic. The junkie kid is going to have to go cold turkey now, so we'll probably have to listen to him whine a bunch.

 

X2, I knew it was gonna be slow at the beginning but not almost the whole 1.5 hr episode.

 

It did set up the story well though IMO. They ended the show on coming face to face with an Infected. Nick had his mom and soon to be step dad there, so he now knows he wasn't hallucinating it all. The little viral clips they were showing were intense. I know that off-ramp where they shot the traffic jam scene! lol

It seems that the hospital staff is kind of aware, like they have been given a little bit of info about the dead reanimating. When the old guy died in the same room as Nick, the staff rushed in and said they needed to get the guy downstairs in 60 secs. That tipped off Nick that something was definitely wrong, and he got out of there. I actually thought the character was done really well.

I anticipate the next episode starting to ramp up the tension. The main characters have now witnessed for themselves the dead reanimating, which means all the hints there were getting during the episode are now truth. I'm looking forward to next Sunday already!

 

Didn't even realize the significance of all of that until now! good catch!

I enjoyed the episode , anybody expecting that it would be a full on zombie murderfest in episode one doesn't get the concept of how this series is showing the events around the start of the outbreak

 

I hope the junkie isn't the main character. Just annoying, and have come across too many like that in my days.

It would be sweet if the spin off was a bunch of preppers hoping this day would come, armed to the teeth, cool vehicles....

 

No shit. The first thing I said was holy shit, is that Dep's little brother? As far as annoying, he plays that well. Off to a slow start, but I'm sure a full fledged Zombie smackdown is coming.

 

I'm surprised so many of you dislike the character Nick! The guy is a junkie and woke up into a nightmare. Everybody he told, with the exception of Travis, just thinks he's a drug crazed loon. Nick does appear to trust Travis as a father figure, something Alicia gave him shit for. But he was the one that really did help Nick in the end.

The kid that seems annoying af is Chris, Travis real son. That kid will be a pain in the ass, watch.

 

Can anyone tell me why Calvin tried to shoot Nick?

 

Idk how I feel about the first episode. There were good parts about it but I felt like I was watching a reality tv show on lifetime for a good portion of it...

 

Nick's a junkie, Calvin was his dealer, Nick seemed to be losing his shit and Calvin was worried about being ratted out.

 

Nicks parents came to Calvin's place so he assumed that Nick had told them he was his dealer

 

Ok. So Nick must be an idiot for getting in Calvins car and going to a secluded lot with him.

 

Yeah. Calvin said that he got something for him to help, which is why he asked him if he had any of this hardware aka needles with him. Nick though Cal was going to take him to get high.
