So is that red volt meter always on? Or does it shut off when you turn off the truck?

 

I quoted your other post, ran power from the blue sea fuse panel under the hood. Yea the Volt meter will always be on, all three ports of the set are hot all the time keys or not. You could run a separate wire from the meter to the ignition source I would guess, as Ive done with the display lights on my OTRATTW switches.

Haha I'm at the point of no fucks. Every cut or hole I put on or in the truck is suppost to be there. The stock truck is basically a blank canvas in my eyes.

Thanx Dude, Im getting to that "happy for now" stage. My build plans remain snorkel very soon, Pelfrey front this winter, and fridge freezer next spring.

I've been needing something similar in my bed storage setup to keep tabs on the aux battery!

 

How long do you think you could go before that display would draw the battery down? Just curious, I know it probably doesn't draw much.

Honestly not sure. As of now I have never seen the digital display change while the truck sits off, whether be a few hours or over night. I'm going to keep it this way till I find a reason to change it. At that point I can run the digital display to the ignition source and leave the other two ports always hot.

 

Look at you being the master of truck wiring now! You sound like you actually know what you are doing.

 

Could always throw a simple switch above that panel, did something similar for my RTT power box with a similar idea.

Power box is in my future. Been having some ideas bout how I wanna go about it, starting with a pelican box. The idea came to me camping with my fiancé, she needs a fan to sleep. Then starting thinking a heated blanket would be nice fall/winter camping. Add in a power port for charging a phone or anything else and that's good enough for me to wanna make one lol.

Is the power source coming from your truck battery or a secondary battery. My thought would be to put a second small battery, maybe a motorcycle battery in a case so the case will be cordless to the power source, and recharged off the truck battery when needed. I'm not saying it's the best idea ever, just that in theory to me makes sense. Let me know your thoughts.

 

Currently running off the main 31M battery. I've debated doing what you said or just going to 34 duals.
