    I've been down that road with cheap ass autozone and advance parts and napa and all their stuff don't last worth a damn........ I just want something that's going to last, either pay around 200 for stock or throw another 100 at it for EBC.......

    Oh that's not bad. if the oem ones lasted might as well stay with them. Mine are on there last leg with all the weight. So I upgraded from stock. Don't know if it will be better with the ebc. From what I have heard, they are. If that's worth it to you then may be worth the extra mula. I have the kit at home so I can't tell you about the longevity or performance. I hope it's better though haha

    I would assume its better than stock for sure, I haul some stuff occasionally so id kinda like to get some better brakes. Defiantly don't want to put brand new stock ones on and ruin them you know.

    Too few to list.
    Better than OEM or about the same? From what I've read, they squeak and people usually prefer the HPS.

    Same feel I guess. No squeaks so far. I think I was going to go OEM originally, but found a great deal on an open box set of the LTS.

    Just bought my second set of ebc sport rotors as I'm on vacation and noticed serious steering wheel shakes at high speeds(interstate 81)when braking. My last set lasted 8 years for those wondering. If there're delivered in time will be installing this weekend. Going with Napa gold pads if I need to change those as well. Doubt that I will but probably do it anyways.

    Called carid and their stage 4 shows the red stuff pads in the pic but it does come with the 7000. Is $269 a good price for everything? I'm assuming it is. I only have 10000 miles on my truck so I'm debating if I should go ahead and upgrade or wait till I need it. And I'm still wondering why I do not have cotter pins on my truck. I have that the single wire pin that seems sketchy to me. Did they start doing this setup on the newer trucks? IMO I would prefer to have the cotter pins so if I do bite the bullet I might switch to the cotter pins instead. Any input on going ahead and going with the new set up or wait would be greatly appreciated.

    Can't really say anything about the cotter pins. As for switching, do you feel the need for new brakes because the stocks are not performing? If so switch. If your pads have life, keep them and out the money towards something else.

    I came to the conclusion last night to wait it out. I have mostly ran out of mods that I want to do to the truck so I was looking for other things to do. HAHA

    I installed rotors and pads yesterday. Followed the OPs instructions as close as possible as I didn't have the caliper tool. Used pry bar instead. Took about 2 hours but that's because I went slow and had no air tools or floor jack. Smooth as silk braking now though and saved some cash to boot. This forum is great!

    Well, I bought some new Wagner Thermo Quite pads to put on today. Pulled my tires off and still had what looked like new pads on each side. Do Tacoma brakes just like to squeak at slow stops? My 4Runner was bad at squeaking all the time, even with new pads. (Only had this Tacoma less than a month).

    My original pads squeaked with plenty of pad left also. It wasn't the noise maker tab either. Taking them apart and cleaning everything up helped for a while

    Mine squeaked driving off of the lot and went back 3 times to have it checked. I have the same brakes at 90k and same squeak... But they work great.

    Nice job! I just started dabbling with doing minor stuff like this on our vehicles a few years ago. Saves good money and fairly easy. Good write-up, will reference this in future when I give mine its first swap!

    Did my front pads for the first time last week.

    It went quite well. I did have to bang the shit out of the lower pins on both side. They were terribly rusted.

    After that it was pretty smooth. I grinded the rust off the pins and greased the new pads and pins.

    The only issues I had was after I pressed back the Pistons on the second set it overflowed the reservoir a bit. I wasn't expecting that. It must have had too much because even after that it was a tad over the max line.

    After a week they work great and no noise.

    I went with the Toyota semi metallic OEM after doing a bunch of research.

    I bought some cheapie Auto Zone pads and threw them on last night since I was starting to hear a terrible grinding. I'm just using them to buy time while I decide what I want to do. Locally all the OEM pads and Rotors cost about $250.

    Has anyone used any of the kits they have on Summit ? I'm looking at those with pads and rotors for around $175. They have pretty good reviews too. I could get this kit and still have money left to get Stainless lines for the front.

    I just this past weekend installed the Power Stop K137 pad and rotor setup on my 2013 Double Cab PreRunner 2WD truck. My OEM pads were fine but the rotors were just getting to the point where I was getting some serious pedal pulsing while braking from 60+ MPH.

    So far I like the pad and rotor combo quite a bit; the whole installation took about an hour and as I live in Arizona my brake hardware was dirty but not rusty. I bedded the pads per the manufacturer's instructions and after about 150 miles they feel solid and stop predictably without any noise or weird bite on the pedal. I used a liberal amount of anti-seize on the hubs and pad pins just to make sure that my next change will be just as easy.

    I bought a set of braided lines but as I would like to bleed the system professionally that will be a step that I do with a friend of mine who owns a performance garage. So far I think that the K137 combo is a good spend of your money.

    getting the rotor off

    I cringed hard when I saw you with the persuader

    should be using

    a) the provided M8 bolt holes and two M8 screws. clean and lube and clean again the holes, crank bolts down evenly, rotor pops

    or

    b) a rotor puller

    only if a or b fail should the persuader be brung out IMHO
