Oh okay, didn't know you could fish off their docks. Or do you mean down by the rowing club?

We'll be in his 15' smokercraft. I've never really fished past where the snohomish/sky/Snoqualmie converge, so I'm not exactly sure.

Hey guys, thought I would post this from my build over in here. Went up to Funny Rocks last night and took a really fun route! I wanted to see if there was any interest in here to do a meet in my neck of the woods. I would say only requirement would be sliders and preferably 285s... Just gotta be careful... As far as Trail Limos go... I wouldn't do it in one... but I know you guys are good with your trucks. Maybe @Chickenmunga and @Benson X can chip in? Think you have been up to funny rocks before, right?

    Here's my mini report:

But yeah we took Loop D Loop Trail up to Funny Rock and Moon Rocks then took #426 down. Smoke was horrible. Man it is tight for a truck my length, especially with LT  Several spots required stopping and backing up to make the corner. Used my sliders on trees a lot and both bumpers. Headlight hoops are great for guiding you! I almost smashed my bedside in. Was squishing thru two trees and had to flex over a boulder. Well the rear tire slipped off the rock and bam my rear bumper slid right into the tree  Nicely though there wasn't any bad pinstripes, all soft pine trees.

    Pics:

Got spotted getting snacks before. Haha #MallRated

    First part of trail:

The dang ground really hates tacos I guess

    Funny Rocks:

The way back down. REALLY tight!

Sorry for the lack of pics. We started at like 2:00 and we wanted to get done before dark. Great trip though. Long travel is good stuff. Very comfy ;)

I'm down in Oregon pretty soon here and starting my new job, so I don't plan on having time for a big trip... well, except for my family vacation the week of the 13th in Sweet Home :D

Hatin' on the 255s and the 33x10s huh? (Just say 33s or better, hehe)
Regardless, I'd revise and say it's dependent on where you are going. Front and rear recovery is a must. Any stock vehicle could be OK in summer, but has to be in excellent running condition with no less than newer AT tires and excellent driving skills. I would recommend a 1st gen taco to be the widest recommended stock vehicle (we proved a 90s 4R can make it out there, as you may remember).
This time of year, you need to be vigilant about closures. You must have a map of the area, the ranger station has them, or the gas station near Whistlin' Jack may if they don't run out.

be armored as fook and go slow. All my scratches are from not having a scout or being too fast.

Yeah, I've been there and taken multiple ways. Most ways has been Kaner to Lilly Pond to Milk Creek and so on, but that takes a lot of your day before you even get to the rocks. The most direct and easy way is to do NF-1702 to NF-675 to NF-530 to NF-114. Not the most interesting, but gets you there fast. I'm not sure if you can join NF-1702 straight from the highway or not, there's some permanent closures and backtracking to some of this.

Chicken, you're moving to Oregon ? *Cry* will we ever see you again for off-road get together?

And yes Dakota, I'd love to hit some wheeling with you in your neck of woods. Problem is, my idea of offroading and your idea of offroading greatly differ, I'm scared to take my rig on the stuff you go through. So can I ride with you and be an un-official photographer?

K I need to do some more research. And yes 33s or better :p If your unarmored and inexperienced damage man incur. I'll get maps and type up a better more detailed thing. I just wanted to throw it out there if there was interest.
Sorry man haha, that spot is reserved for a voluptuous woman and a beagle ;)

There is a couple of easy access routes to funny rocks from 410 by whistlin jacks. I will agree, there are alot of narrow areas but you can take alot of FS roads for 80% of the way up. With the lack of moisture you dont have to worry to much aout sliding into to many trees unless you come across rocks like you said!
Correct me if I am wrong but I remeber there being 2 or 3 bypass trails up by funny/moon rocks to continue on through to some wooded trails. I want to take my truck up there and tool around, dont know If i would try the crack or to many things but I know I can make it up there. Been up with some friends a couple times in jeeps and twice on my quad. Just for a refrence, not challenging at all really to get there but we always took Rock Creek Road then jumped on two different Service roads until we hit woods (once you make it ontop of the ridge) and jump in a trail for 5 minutes and we are there. I will try to find some pictures tonight.

Trucks is pretty wicked Dakota!! We should link up and do this in a week or two..... any takers?
