    I got the first one done in 20 mins. The other was a pain in the ass and still not right. I could not get proper alignment for the bigger bushing sleeve to seat properly. I tried tapping with a large wooden dowel but I only succeeded in deforming the surrounding sheet metal. :(

    I tightened it down enough and will gently flex the chassis to see if it seats properly on the way to work tomorrow.

    My bushings were beat, and one corroded bolt.

    Pass side.

    Edit: I may try using my hi-lift to lift the driver side of truck from slider to see if that flexes it enough. Only need like 2mm more clearance.

    Thanks for the write up Crom. Strange that the bigger sleeve doesn't want to go in.
    My drivers side was tighter than the passenger side. I noticed that yesterday when I slathered some grease on them.
    Your factory bushings look to be in bad shape. Glad you are replacing these.

    Sub'd. Great thread OP!

    I'm at 50k and looking to do my rack bushings (too much slop for my preference) and I may as well get these done too. I ran daystar bushings on my 95 and was very pleased with their products for the front end.

    Yes driver side is one giving me problems. The bolt was justified all the way to the edge of the hole and I could not for the life of me get it centered, so that the bushing sleve could seat properly. Basically the upper center support or whatever it's called would not align with the lower frame. I'll try again after work, it may have fixed itself on the drive to work, dunno...

    For only $22 I figured I'd get some of these before my factory ones are toast (if they aren't already). Ordered some steering rack bushings as well, hopefully those help with the slop a little bit.

    Well, now I have something else on my list of things to do. Mine only has 18 or 19k miles but has had plenty of "flexing" in its life. It has an odd creaking when flexing over something.

    My OEMs show damage after <6K miles. Replacements going on now.

    I used a small pry bar as shown to get the top OEM out. Easy.

    Totally worth it. Mine were torn to shit on a 2012. Since I've changed them I don't see my front end dancing around and the noise and squeaks have gone down a lot.

    Look at the pics in post #17 and you'll see why this is such a good idea. It's cheap and easy= no brainer.

    My new bushings seem to make a lot of noise. Especially off road. I greased them plenty with super lube when installing... Maybe that was a mistake. :notsure:

    The lube definitely helped to quiet mine down. Was going to get in there a little better with a thicker grease when I have time.

    Double check that all of your hardware it tightened properly. I did the whole cab and do not have any squeaking.
