2013 Tacoma SR5 TRD Entune Bluetooth all factory stuff. Phone is the Samsung S4 Galaxy running Android 5.0.1 About a month ago started to drop connection total random. Now Bluetooth links then then 30 seconds later disconnects. Dealer performed TSB updating the software to 3.2.0. I did a hard reset on the phone. Still no luck. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

I've had this issue on other BT units and I've found that a deletion from both the phone & the unit followed by this very important step fixes the issue almost every time: When you pair the devices again and you get a pop-up asking about sharing your contacts this is fine but the one that you get asking to share text messages make sure you don't accept that one. Cancel it or say no or whatever the option is. For some reason this doesn't jive well with most all BT units on the market and will cause the issue where when it first connects it drops connection every time about 30sec later and then reconnects again a short while later. Annoying if you stream from your phone to your deck when in your vehicle as I do.

Yep I deleted connection from the phone and the truck.. no luck. I'll try your suggestion of not sharing the text. Driving me crazy!

    Thanks-

but not slated for the S4. still not sure if this is an Android compatibility issue or something wrong with the truck unit.
I have two S4's, neither will link anymore. Supposedly the tech linked with an iPhone after the software update with no issue. Scheduled to go back Saturday for another look.

    Which samsung?

No problem, it drove me crazy for a bit. Not sure what the final solution was except it just started working. To recap I had the Entune software updated by Toyota. Linking issues continued. Did a hard reset on the phones, Linking issues continued. Set an appointment to go see the dealership end of the week.. but after a few days (before the appointment) they linked and have not had an issue to date. Did the truck / Entune need to cycle a few times? Set to upgrade phones at the end of the year, fingers crossed they will work.

It's always Samsungs. :D Turn off "OK Google". That seems to be causing issues too.

LOL! I think its the latest version of Lollipop that has not been playing nice. A friend had similar issues with the Motorola Droid. Thanks for the tip.

My Galaxy was doing the exact same thing. My problem is that my phone was trying to connect to the truck, my tablet, and my computer so it kept dropping the truck. Anyway, I unpaired the phone from my tablet and computer and that fixed my problem. Not sure if this is your issue or not, but I figured I'd throw it out there!
