Anyone know how this will work? Will you connect to your cell phone via bluetooth and use you cell's data plan to access Nav info, and have it display on the 6.1 inch LCD?

Will there be a month charge for this?

No extra charge, but it will use your phone's data. You don't have to be online to use the nav, only the feature of tracking social media connections within the vehicles map, and adding traffic and weather layers.

There's already two threads on this. I suggest you research TelNav Scout.

Man it looks archaic. I use Google Maps for navigation on my phone with a mount. Works great and its fast etc. This looks like it will be seriously buggy/laggy.

That was three years ago. Download the free app and play with it. It's no different that Google on the iPhone, and I like that I have everything pre-programmed in my phone before I even get to the car.

My brother has an F-150 that has to go through an extensive "pre-flight" sequence before he can go anywhere.

I also wonder if it will play nice when streaming music to the system using the Amazon app, then using nav at the same time with Scout, then trying to handle an incoming phone call using hands-free Entune. Something tells me this will be a mess.

I also wonder how reliable it will be to find your cell phone when you get close to the car so you can use nav immediately vs having to take out your phone and turn the bluetooth off and on again etc. Or if you plug it in to charge it via USB how it handles the audio streaming.

I hope they get this right.

Are you kidding? Entune syncs immediately upon startup, and syncs everything to the car. It has since it came out.

Who manually turns Bluetooth on and off? Leave it on at the phone and it will pair as soon as it detects its connected devices. Simple.

As for any other performance, Bluetooth is a lot faster than the network you're connected to. Any lag in streaming through the phone isn't the app's or phone's fault, it's your service provider.

Get this right? They've HAD IT RIGHT for almost a decade.

We'll see. Just Google Entune connection problems and the posts are endless. My wife has a 2012 Sienna and streaming music, using navigation and handling an incoming call at the same time has never worked. Also, when she plugs in her iPhone to charge via USB, the bluetooth drops and is unable to reconnect unless you turn off the car and start it again.

I also recall her not being able to connect to her phone to steam music because once the phone has a name, you cant connect to the same phone to make calls (phone needs a different name). So you cant use the same phone for calls and streaming. Its one or the other.

    Its BS.

well I have no issues with my entune in my 2014 4runner, rav4, 2015 camry?

when was the last time you updated your entune? the last physical update was 3.2, then after that it was OTA updates to entune. the last update removed bing and replaced it with destination search.

firmware updates will update the functions of the head unit, entune is a separate entity. it just connects the apps on the head unit (Pandora, slacker, iheart radio, etc) with your cellphone.
