It won't kill it, we're talking roughly 200lb with bed bars, but the stock springs aren't known to be the longest lasting.

Edit: on my phone, didn't see all the other replies when I posted.

@DoorDing - How long are your Fox's and do you like the ride empty/fully loaded?

Sounds like airbags would be ideal for you. Small price to pay.

Can't you keep the stock bumps with the Dakar pack?

Is the ubolt flip kit necessary to use the timbrens? Any benefit of replacing the front bumps, or are the oem ones ok? Ok, I'm done thread jacking! :)

    I'm continuing this jack....

So, what are the benefits of flipping the ubolts? I've never understood that. I just ordered my AAL, so I'm wondering if I should be getting this stuff done at the same time.

So with the TSB springs + AAL, and a RTT + a couple hundred pounds of camping gear, should I be looking at new bump stops too?

Door Ding already answered it but the benefit of the u-bolt flip is to increase clearance under the axle. With the u-bolts in the stock configuration they hang down under the axle and can get caught on rocks and other obstacles which can damage the threads and bend the ubolts making them impossible to remove without cutting them off.

Personally I don't think you need to worry about new bumpstops unless you want to. The Timbrens are a nice progressive bumpstop and a good choice if you plan to change them.

To get an idea of the amount of sag you might be dealing with, just grab 4-5 of your friends (depending on how much they weigh) and stand in the bed of the truck to approximate the same weight as a RTT and the other gear you plan to carry. Keep in mind that many people are using RTT's on passenger cars and small SUVs that have even softer suspension than the Toyota factory springs.

I had non TSB springs, 3 leaf AALs, a couple hundred pounds of shell (225 lbs) and the ride with a few hundred pounds of cargo (or more) was fine. I never noticed ever hitting my OEM bumps even with 1100 lbs in the bed, but evidence was there that I had.

Not sure what difference you'll find on your truck but it wasn't terrible. Ride is significantly improved with Dakars, FWIW.

Fair enough. I'll skip them for now. Just thought I'd save on labor and get them done while the AAL's were going on. But I'm guessing I won't need them or notice - not with the mild loads I'll be hauling.

Hey so my amazing gf just bought me a Tepui Kukenam Sky, it should arrive in 3 weeks. I'm getting started on building the rack. I want to have the tent level with the top of the cab, now my issue is I've got a long box so I'm thinking 3 cross bars will be needed, but I also want to keep my tool box just wondering if anyone has a similar setup or has some ideas ?

Cool I really thought the weight would require 3 bars. I was looking at using some angle to sit on the bed cap. Then place the box on top and just use a longer bolt to secure the box. I was worried about the swing of the box lid. But the less messing around the better. Time to go get some bar and angle. I'll get pics up when I'm done. I'm excessively excited about this
