    Hi all,

I'm a new member, and new to the Taco scene. I've started piecing together my build slowly, and will eventually get a thread going for it. Excited to hear others inputs and such.

But to the point...I am looking to buy a lock-right lunchbox locker for my truck, and can't seem to find accurate information as to what differential I actually have in the back of the truck. It's a 2006 2.7L 4x4, Reg Cab, Base model. I found the axle code to be A02A on the door jamb, which some sources indicate is a 7.5" diff, 2 pinion, ?? spline? Also heard other people say that the axle codes for 2nd gens and up are notoriously incorrect, and I should have an 8" 2 pinion w/ 30 splines. I don't know what the right answer is, short of cracking open the case and counting teeth and getting out the calipers. Does anybody have a good source? What the hell size differential do I actually have?

UPTDATE: Called Randy's Ring & Pinion and they confirmed that it is an 8.4" rear ring, 2 Pinion, w/ 30 spline axles. Apparently they don't make any autolockers for this differential size. Same axle as the 2nd gen Tundras and T100s. So back to the internet for more research, unless I wanna drop $600 on a posi.

Go and check East Coast Gear Supply. If I remember correctly, they had a bunch of options for my 8.4. I think the difference is that your truck has 4.10's instead of 3.73 like the V6.
