They really do. The 2nd gen Tacoma was the best-looking pickup I'd ever seen until I saw the 2016. I'm glad I waited and so is my bank account. I even kinda like the oversized grille. Better than oversized headlights.

Is the one in the avatar the color and trim you're getting? Either way it looks great and congrats. I'm waiting until next year while I enjoy the FJC a little longer. :burnrubber:

So I also own a 5th generation Corvette and hang out on the Corvette Forum.

When the new 7th generation Corvette pictures were leaked, the forum went crazy with haters.

"Looks like a squished Camaro", "Those tail lights are ugly, Corvettes use round tail lights", "Are you trying to copy a Lamborghini", "I'll keep my (insert what generation) Corvette, thank you very much" and so on and so on.
The haters on the forum outnumbered everyone else by a large margin.
My buddy, also a C5 owner was one of those haters.

3 weeks ago, I happened to be in Bowling Green, Kentucky and took a guided tour of the Corvette Assembly Plant.
They've recently had to increase the work day from 8 hours to 10 hours to keep up with demand for the new C7.
During the tour, the guide said that over 90% of the Corvettes they produce are cars on order from waiting customers.

Not bad for a vehicle everyone thought was ugly.
Oh, and my buddy the hater, he just bought one.

I believe people will not only get used to it, but embrace it. I know I already drank the Kool-aide.

I believe the 3rd gen will play out exactly like that. Lots of haters at first, then you start to see them on the streets, then the other gen owners will look at their outdated gen, price one out, go for test drive, immediately like the improved interior and NVH, overall still familiar but better in every way, then drive away a 3rd gen ready for more life to live.

Just my opinion, the new corvette looked bad then and still looks awful.

This argument was used before. The new corvette was always good looking. The new Tacoma is not, its ugly, even reviewers said the front is ugly. Thats like saying a PT cruiser or Pontiac Aztec, even though ugly will grow on people, yes its updated, yes in areas its improved, but you still have guys that refuse to move into 2nd gens from 1st gens, etc. I dont care what my 2nd gen will look dated I know its not ugly as sin as the new truck is. I saw it in person at the autoshow too if your trying to come back with that one. Coming from a guy who works around truck guys and rides with guys that are all truck guys maybe one out of all those people thought the new tacoma was an improvement, most say it looks the same or ask what the hell is going on with the front end.

Who cares who thinks its ugly or not. Looks are subjective so it doesnt matter who says its ugly as its not fact. Personally, its the best looking tacoma yet.

Well just two problems with this.... the person posting right above you thinks the new Corvette looks awful. Also, I've looked at about half a dozen reviews on the truck and can't find a single auto magazine saying the truck is "ugly".

I guess the most important part is I love the looks of the Tacoma Sport version.
Just like my buddy thinks his new Corvette looks better than mine. (He's wrong by the way)

I'll have to agree with you. Looks are subjective. So it doesn't really matter to me that imo, you have poor tastes and think the new Tacoma is the best looking ever. It also doesn't matter to me that you don't care that I think Toyota did a half-ass job designing it inside and out ONLY because GMC/Chevy came out with a new truck that is quite worthy. I think Toyota could have slapped a 3 cylinder in this thing and there would be those that proclaim it the best ever, because that's the mentality of a lot of Tacoma guys.

I think it looks fine, it's a bit more edgy while being cost effective using the old cab with new front and rear. Could they have done more to make it look better, yes. But it's fine and it will sell well. In a few years I might pick one up. If I end up with a chrome grill, I'll swap it out or paint it. That's really the only thing I really dislike. Without the chrome, the grill is fine.

No one says ugly they point out the underbite, etc. Did you read the jalopnik review? As others have pointed out looks are subjective. I was simply arguing your "it will grow on people" some things just dont grow on people.

That's my favorite picture of the 2016 (and my wallpaper) and the exact color I would get. I think it looks better because of the angle, but mostly because the body paint and grill are almost the same color and the darker paint looks better with the black plastic on the vehicle, IMO.

I'm not a Tacoma Guy...Actually I'm a Harley and Dodge Guy but I really like the looks and design of the Tacoma. I looked at the new Dodges but really dont need a fullsize truck. So now back to the real issue.... Do you own a Tacoma? Your icon refer to a 13 Dodge Ram. I resent your remarks and feel you need to take your crappy mentality and go elsewhere. Constructive criticism is welcome but your sarcastic blabber is not welcome. Please go to the Dodge forums and bitch all you want about the Tacoma.
