Could be the opposite, that people didn't like what they saw.

That would be nice for those who want the 16...nothing like new trucks with great promise sitting on lots going unsold because people prefer the 2nd Gen......WIN WIN

Wow 17 000 units per month ? people not waiting for new truck. I can't see why.
Seatbelt bracket Mike did not convinced people that drums, car engine, and extra $3000 price tag is good for them. For shame Mike...

    Too few to list.
I purchased in 7/11. I don't like the 3rd gens. I already have crawl control.

What other mid size choice is there. If you think tacoma is outdated look at the frontier. Chevy and gmc are not any cheaper than tacoma, even though updated.

You could go with chevy or gmc, but get the extended warranty.......there goes your cost savings.

Amazingly enough, a very low percentage of those buyers look around here for 'input', do any modifications at all, and like many vehicle owners, rarely raise their own hood.

Not being enthusiasts, they really don't care too much about the next model year. If they looked at the brochures in the showroom, it's unlikely that most of them see any value in waiting (not sure I would). Plus it's likely some dealers are making traditional year-end-get-it-off-my-floor-plan deals.

The Taco is so popular there are enough buyers for every gen. For every buyer thinking the 2016 will be crap on wheels, there is a buyer that is longing for it. It's good to be King.

Exactly. The average consumer probably has no clue or doesn't care if a new model for a given vehicle is around the corner. That and the Tacoma sells crazy well regardless.

Installed Cooper At/3's (265/70R16) and ProComp 7089 Rims. Tinted front windows. Did the Fog Light Anytime mod. Did the tailgate mod. Added running boards. Adding sound Deadening from RAAMaudio. Replacing stock speakers with Polk Audio DB6501's.
    Not the best "selling"......
    just the "BEST"!

This is part of what's wrong with the Tacoma. Blindness.

Dealer says no factory incentives on left over 15s......I guess Toyota is confident they will sell out the 15s without any financial effort, Who could blame them with 17K moved AFTER the 16 has been announced and pictured for months. The 2Nd Gen is a timeless look. Still looks good next to the 16s.

I would have been happy to get the new drive train , premium, Tailgate bits. and tech in the Second gen body style

You don't need factory incentives to save you money at a car dealership

No you don't but When I see Miatas selling for $6000 below MSRP and Nissans THAT is the factory incentives I am referring to. Yeah maybe the dealer will discount $2000 then add their Doc fee back in. And the mop and glo.LOL
