TOYOTA....You have got to be kidding! What a "cluster!" at least the space was useful before, my dog loved it with rear seats down AND I liked the flat space for junk and the ability to put stuff under folded section. You have ruined one of my most used feature.
My occasional human riders were small grandchildren, they no longer fold up that small! Seems foolish but unless they offer no rear seating as an option I'm not going to go for a 2016 Offroad Access Cab as planned!
PLUS....Note the nice surface mounted seat belt tensioners, 8-28 Update: NOT !..Sorry didn't look close enough at picture to see these were speakers. My error!

They have been that way since 2009-10 IIRC. You can rip that stuff out and build your own platform...they got it in there...you can take it out.

I was thinking the same thing. Funny how some people see a photo on here with aftermarket addons and somehow think those things are stock and then jump all over them for one reason or another.

    It happens. lol

SO.. I think I have a game plan for a new 16 Taco.. if its possible. been stuck on what Trim level and options to do..

I want the Limited leather.. I love brown/tan/hickory leather, plus it has extra accents not just the seats. It also comes standard with all the goodies I want... BUT.. it comes with a hefty price tag, and I'm still stuck with the chrome mirrors, handles, etc.

The Sport is about 4k cheaper, but after options (technology and premium jbl) it might only be around 1k-2k cheaper.. which I could turn around and use for 3rd party leather.. buts its still just not the same.

If I could get them to sell me a Limited.. but tell them I'm ready to go.. I'll buy this expensive Taco.. IF.. they swap the mirrors and handles to color match.. that would be ideal.

so.. what are the chances you can talk a dealer into stuff like that? they can keep the chrome, keep the fancy Limited wheels, etc. I just want color match and interior features.

Might be easier to have them switch the interior?

Probably cheaper to just buy the handles and caps, sell the chrome ones on eBay.

Regardless, if and when this private sale works out, I'll be getting into a DCSB auto 4x4, in super white.. either a Limited or Sport with options.

Every Limited pictured is blue....Love the white. I was kicking around getting a LTD but The sport with AFM leather is probably better choice.

There is a picture of the limited in MGM as well. I want to see that in the Sport.

They gotta have a Limited in white right?? :)

I agree.. thats probably what I'll end up doing.

I had a Speedway Blue Sport access cab auto 4x4 before my current white DCSB... I wanna stick to white. especially here in Az.

Speaking of chrome. This is what you need to buy for $2300 (premium + tech package) if you don't want a chrome bumper on your TRD OD access cab.

    Dual Zone Climate

Control, heated front seats, rear parking

sonar, Blind Spot Monitor (requires color

keyed rear bumper) with Rear Cross

    Traffic Alert, and auto-headlamps

I'll be going with the chrome bumper. The JBL is not available for the access cab which may have been the one item to push me towards spending the $2300.

My plans exactly. Given this is my first Tacoma, are there any advantages/disadvantages to white the community knows about? Eg might hide scratches but you have to wash it often, etc

    ...looking to buy....

...I think I have a cheaper option?.....in several of the vids...they mention that the new rear bumper is in 3 pieces so it is much cheaper to replace, as that is the area of the truck that gets damaged most frequently...

....So...rather than having to buy the premium & tech package...( assuming ya don't want them? )....is to just buy the 3 piece bumper in matching paint to your truck?...o_O

    They won't do that.
Third party leather is usually much better quality and cheaper. Katzkin probably has a good match to the Hickory.

I'm sure they would gladly sell you after market handles and mirrors though.

I have a meeting tomorrow with the custom leather installer for the dealership. This is my general intention.

    Am I going too far?
