Before, I was in the dash, cleaning the cluster cover. I don't think I touched the needle, but then it did this.

I have already tried resetting the needle to the zero position. It worked for a minute and then slipped back down when I turned on the engine and drove around.

    Thoughts? Ideas?

Twist the needle clockwise and set it back at 0. I believe that's what I did to fix mine.

I read that you tried resetting it. Did you do that just by putting it on the zero?
If you didn't twist it clockwise it'll just fall back down.

If you did do it clockwise and it still falls.. i'm out of ideas.

    Okay, my apologies.

Yes I did try twisting it clockwise and put it back to zero. :-\

Maybe try removing the needle, installing on the zero, do a few times clockwise and try again?

@Fern11 is the one who fixed mine for me the first time. He may be able to chime in.

Ohhh you mean a couple full rotations instead of just re-positioning it? Yikes!

I might try that, but am kinda nervous.

Does the needle just pop off easily? Would I need to mark its position or will it still be apparent when I take the needle off? (aka one way to put the needle back on, with maybe a notch on the pin)

yep. Full rotations while it's connected, the needle will bend a little but it'll be okay. Just don't force it too hard and it should be fine. I was nervous doing it too. I had to do it with my speedo needle as well.
Yeah just pull up on it or use a knife to get under it and pop it off. Just push it back on, do a few rotations and put it back on zero and see if it does anything.

Fixed for now! We'll see if it slips back down.

Tried: pulled needle off with screwdriver, then twisted it some revolutions. Had to pull it off when I reached the right side bulge then re-positioned needle at bottom right (about 6 o'clock) then turned more clockwise. Then when I plugged it back in and just had the door open it wanted to zero itself. The needle actually when counter clockwise and was hitting against the barrier again at about 5 o'clock from the bulge.

Figured when it's trying to zero itself that's when I'll put the needle back on.

Thus tried: Unplugged from dash, pulled needle off completely again, plugged back in dash to let the thing zero itself, then put the needle back on CAREFULLY right on the zero.

No bending of the needle required. Hopefully this lasts!!

    On accessory mode, zeroed:
