A few art pieces from this week.

Wish I would have left this one as a pencil drawing.

don't like the off the shelf fire pits that like to rust out after a season, so I built my own. lava rock base and masonry wall blocks for the main structure.

Lol, I used to watch him all the time when I was growing up. Some of his techniques are pretty darn good especially on his backgrounds. Not a huge fan of how he does most trees, but his other uses of the palette knife to paint with always intrigued me. I actually had a student watch some of his video clips when she was learning about landscape painting. :D

I love how it just transforms white to an actual picture, and i love how his lack of detail in the trees makes it look more detailed lol

No pics, because I didn't think of it and they are just plain white boxes, but I made 17 pedistals for an artist's show in the KC area and built a hanging false wall to mount a sculpture too. Not bad for an afternoon.

Are any of these for pieces of your own or did you make them for someone else?

All for some one else, I have been doing more work lately building things for other people shows. I don't find it hard, but I'm surprised how many artists can't do simple carpentry

I know what you mean, my co-worker claims she's a master furniture maker, but yet 7 years have gone by and I've yet to see her make anything. She's got the space, time, and facilities. ..let's see something! :notsure:

To be fair, I work with ceramic artists..... they fear the big saws and the loud. They are terrified of the plasma cutter.
