So I'm good getting a set of rear studs for the front then, AWESOME! I owe you an ice cold one when we get to wheel!

 

So after enduring the brutal Texas heat the whole year + the "oven" effect inside the cab I finally conjured the common sense to buy a denso ac compressor. I also bought some blue ngk spark plug wires and it all just shipped.

After scanning, thinking, reading. Could my problem be a dirty IAC or my throttle body needs a good cleaning

 

When I was driving the new to us 03 taco to work today, the check engine light came back on again. Thought replacing the vsv took care of it but apparently not. Had like 6 codes but they were all these three: PO441, PO442, and PO446. I don't know if replacing the charcoal canister or some sort of solenoid/valve will take care of it or if I'm just going to keep chasing the rabbit down the hole. Any help from you guys is much appreciated as always. Thanks.

 

Do you have a service manual? They have detail instructions on how to test all the solenoids attached to the vsv with nothing more than a volt meter. Also, check all of you vacuum lines, if they are cracked or damaged it can cause it too. The actual VSV has to be cracked to cause the codes, sometimes this is obvious once you get it out and look it over. Mine cracked on the bottom, had to take it out to see it. A new vsv is ~$300, camelback toyota will be your best price (including the shipping), they are an official vendor on here, so hit them up if you need to go that route.

If you figure out how to route the vacuum lines to elements the vsv and not throw codes, let me know, I would love to clear up that space.

There is a charcoal canister on top of the tank, pray it isn't that expensive PITA piece.

I did. It's overbuilt and heavy though. I might build a version 3 and hand it off to a carpenter in a few years. I've been driving around with no she'll for a day. It does drive very nice with an empty bed.
