Finished the second phase of the garage clean up today. The lighting and power is now installed on the new workbench. Tomorrow starts the sorting of all the parts bins and cleaning the old workbench storage compartments. There is a lot more room now.

    102, WOW

The extra space means another 9 ft horizontal surface to pile crap on. ;)

On a bittersweet side, I wish I knew more about the dynamics of speakers and crossover networks. I blew out one of my Boston Acoustics Pro60SE speakers. I think it was time for it to go. The speaker cone and the voice coil separated. Looks like the glue may have overheated and bubbled up causing the separation. The speaker is no longer made and the manufacture does not have any. I sent the speaker off to United Audio in Syracuse, NY and hope they can fix it. If not I will probably have to buy new speakers and it will be expensive. I put these speakers in the Tacoma back in the winter of 2010.

From what I am reading the manufacture designs the crossover component to match the speakers and to separate the signal to create the desired timbre. There are adjustments you can make to the crossover but the sound is not changed all that much. To further complicate the problem the BA speakers are 3 ohms where most other manufactures are 2, 4, or 8 ohms. If I am correct this will not allow me to me to add a set of JL Audio ZR-650 CW speakers on to the Boston Acoustics crossovers.

I am powered by a JL Audio JX360/2 amp.

 :pccoffee: Coffee time. I think I heard the wife stirring upstairs, time to go and see.

Tom, I don't see why the speakers should have overheated just because of the crossover. All a crossover does is pick the frequencies. I could see blowing one apart that way, but overheating doesn't seem to make sense. The 3 ohm thing on the other hand.... .... I guess I'm wondering if the amp driving the speakers is okay.

All that said, wow what a rig for a lowly old pickup truck! :) I'm running the stock stuff; I mostly listen to talk radio anyway.

I like to listen to the music and really not that loud. The amp is brand new and I did not adjust the gain up at all. I did put the HU on a Super Bass setting, one of the custom settings. Wish I had taken a pic of the coil. Hopefully next week I will know what I need to do for speakers.

    Holy crap!
Was just looking at prices on gunbroker for 6.5 Rem. Mag brass.
    50 pcs.W/ a starting bid of $90, or buy now for $140.
20 pcs. of once fired for $34.99.
14 pcs. 100 gr. factory ammo for $64.99.
I think I have around 600 brand new brass, and a bunch of factory ammo for that caliber.
Just glad I stocked up on it when it was available, I would for sure be crying if I didn't have a stash!
