Sliders or Tube Steps

Fellaz and Ladies,

I know there are plenty of posts out there but which would be better. I have a white Double Cab, and I want to add something on the side to help the mother and son get into the truck. I only have a PreRunner but i was tube steps that are black (preferably i want stockers to removed the silver and powdercoat black) but I also have been looking at sliders. What do you guys suggest? I am open to all opinions. I an going for an all black and white look for my truck. The pics I've seen of some sliders look like they are pointing upwards on an angle. I want something that is close to the cab of the truck too so my sons leg/s dont fall through.

If you aren't going off road I'd get tube steps..sliders can play two roles..use it to step into your truck and protect the frame

 

Sliders are not really for stepping, But for jacking the vehicle up, And gaurding the rocker panels.. From what I gather.

If you get the sliders, paint them and then on the top get some grip tape or bed liner to improve grip. That way you can use them for steps and sliders

 

Sliders are much tougher than step bars. They're also good for protecting your vehicle against parking lot door openers. Though they're not step bars, the definitely can be used as step bars if they sit out far enough. You might want to put some non-skid grip tape on the top of the bar to help prevent slipping. If you're debating between the two, I'd get sliders. Sliders can be used as step bars but step bars cannot be used as sliders as they're much thinner tubing and are more easily damaged.

If you're using them as a step..... you can get double tube 'square tube' sliders from Demello. They work great as steps. I used them all the time on my 96 tacoma and they go wheel-to-wheel. They are flat. I covered mine with Herculiner. These are also great for jacking the truck up with when you gotta change a tire (w/hi lift jack).

The round tube sliders just aren't good for stepping duty.

Or look into running boards, nerf bars, or tube steps. I have OEM running boards.
