Stay away from lifetime led! There are multiple problems with them! Also for LED fog lights I use rigid arms and they have worked great without any issues.

You should check out opt7 or VLED if you feel brave and want to do an LED rertofit that would be cool.

When you say LED retrofit, you mean do a projector retrofit and add LED bulbs?

I mean take an LED light meant for a jeep with the round housing and put it in the tacoma headlight housing.

Yea..... I'll let the mad scientists try that first..:) I first want to try the Plug n' Play route first. Then maybe move on to a projector retrofit.. Just debating whether I should first drop $$ into the LED's or just dive straight into the retros..

Go on Amazon.com and get opt7 led bulbs, bright as hell and I love em!!! Had 360 lighting (brand) and they were nothing compared to these. They have tiny ballasts which is a win! Only thing is you have to take the silver locking tray off with a small Phillips screwdriver, put the boot over the bulb, then put the tray back on. Took me 10 minutes to install. $00.02

Another thing is with the led lights, a "retrofit" projector lens comes with the xenon bulb built in. You cannot use a preexisting bulb. If there is a retrofit projector lens that uses our stock bulb, I will buy it right now.

The light is a blueish white, you will not be disappointed. I can snap pics of what I did if you want to know. The ones I bought were red with 4 LEDs per bulb. 2 lo 4 HI, bought em cause they were the colour of my taco. Could not be happier. Take it on faith for now

Yeah I'm hoping it's a tighter spill as opposed to just throwing an HID bulb in there with no projector I heard the split LEDs help stop that.

Yeah the LED I had on my old truck (ranger) was split, top row for lo and bottom and top for HI, so it would light only the top half of the lens on lo, was cool for a bit then looks weird once you stop loving them. These ones have a better design, if you don't want split bulbs there are ones by CREE that I know nothing about besides that they have leds all around the "bulb"

Get Philips X-Treme Vision bulbs. Or any other higher power halogen bulb from Philips, Osram, or Sylvania. That's the only way to ensure proper light pattern. No LED bulb will guarantee a proper light pattern. Also, whiter =/= brighter.

If you're having problems seeing in bad weather, Rigid LED foglights + lower speed are your best option. No amount of light will help you drive safely at higher speeds in bad weather.

I have used both Lifetime and VLED and ended up sending my Lifetimes back because I was not at all happy with them.

VLED puts out a top tier product. I had Factory LED Headlights in a 2014 Rogue I was driving and far and away they are the best headlights I have ever used and I drove through some pretty dark mountain passes and roads with them, I am hooked on LED's now.

LED is the way of the future IMHO, I am disappointed that Toyota will not be putting them in the 2016 Taco to match the LED DRL's. The projector halogens they are using seem to have mixed reviews...

If you go with the VLED's go with the 5000K because the 6000K's have a slight Blue Tinge to the Light Colour.

I put 5000K VLED Fogs in my Rogue to match the Factory LED Headlights and they were a perfect match, the Factory Halogen Fogs that I swapped out with the VLED LED's looked yellow next to the LED Headlights.

One thing I am going to do is see whether I can swap the Projector Halogens with the LED's in the new 2016 Taco, but it might be a challenge.

This link are the ones I have, the link is smile.Amazon.com to donate a small proceed to charities for free! But they are phenomenal, they are bright, give a nice spread of light on the road, and have wicked range. 100% improvement over the OEM. I have run nighthawks as well and these knock any traditional halogen bulb out of the water. Ask me about installation of LED headlights. You should be able to figure it out but I got the trick.
