I might of gotten lucky then, i started out at 3.5 no spacers or any thing. i am trying to wait a year before measuring and comparing but by then I will have the front armor as well.

    thanks for the info man.

Yes, something is wrong if you got 3.5" from 885 coils on a DC. Either the installation or the before/after measurement figures.

I doubt even my DC config would see that much increase on 885s after settling. Maybe the minute I put tires on the ground. I was at nearly 3" the day of install.

If you are settled at 3.5 then something, somewhere, is amiss.

I see a couple people with 887 have chimed in about how well their ride is but is anyone with 887s having the same experiences as the OP?

Well if the noise is coming from the OME shocks, it doesn't matter what coil is being used. OME shocks would be the issue.

I'm sure someone already brought this up but it's simple. When you lift, you reduce downtravel. Downtravel is what makes bumps feel smoother. Think of it this way: you lift it 3" over stock, then you now have 3" less downtravel. Softer spring rates and longer coils will make it better than a shorter stiffer coil, but the end result is still the same. You're left with less downtravel.

I love hearing that haha. Some guys think trucks are just supposed to ride like shit. Like those guys in the lowered Hondas bouncing down the road on their bump stops. "It's supposed to ride like this! It's a race car!"

I am going to contact down south motor sports about extended travel fox and king, It was all the OME guys that claim it rides like butter that I decided to waste my money on that stuff. Ome is great for a pavement truck or a groomed dirt road but not so much on the rougher stuff that requires any suspension flex or potholes, rocks and ruts.
