I owned a '13 TRD Sport and like others, was anticipating a stellar all new design from Toyota and considering a new '16. Many are let down by what they've done. I'm one of them. Everyone has their opinions as to how Toyota did. Just because I don't share your opinion does not mean that I don't need to comment, and not currently owning a Tacoma has nothing to with being a member here. Your resentment and feelings mean nothing to me.

Terry, you have a right not to like it but to say someone who does like it has poor taste and is an idiot is way out of line. I retired form Miramar in 97. Was at Topgun then moved them to Fallon and stayed on Miramar for the Marine transition until I retired 9 months later. All the kids and grandkids are here so no reason to go back to Texas.

You will be happy with your Tacoma. Especially when it's time to trade it in down the line. Resale value of these trucks is unreal.

I had a 2013 too, loved it, had a lapse of reason and traded it in for a new 4runner limited for the wife. She said the Tacoma was a girl truck and after realizing here in central Oregon most Tacoma drivers were female. At least the ones I counted, aarrrgghh she was right!!. I decided to wait for the new Tacoma and like others here said it did disappoint. I actually think the 2nd Gen looks tougher, more burley. The 2nd Gen is gonna be a classic.

The current Taco is a damn good looking truck, but I don't get how you could possibly think it looks tougher or more burly. The gen 3 is a much beefier and more aggressive looking truck.

Small world. I did a tour of duty at NAS Miramar during the transition as an MP from about Nov 93 until 1Oct97I think) when it officially became MCAS. The red headed Base Admin Officer (female)wanted to extend me even past that and I was already extended. Back to sea I went...

I think it is the puny bushwacker fenders on the new new model. The whole truck looks like an early model Dakota. Jmo

I think you may need to take another look at a Dakota and refresh your memory on what they look like. lol

Sorry, you used the word "ugly" in your post when you said, "even reviewers said the front end is ugly".

Yes, so I've re-read every article, including the jalopnik review. You're right, jalopnik is the most critical when they say,

"The hood is a couple of inches taller than last year’s, making the truck look a bit beefier. Below the grille, the “chin” that wraps up from the bottom — there for pedestrian protection — does look a bit awkward, but overall, the front still looks handsome."

If you find any professional reviews stating anything more critical than awkward, yet still looks handsome, please post the link here.
It seems to me the only place I've seen anything about it being ugly is on this forum.

    Terry,
Was at Miramar from June 92 to April 97. Retired Aug 1, 97. Transitioned Topgun from A-4F's to A-4M's then to the F-18's. Fun Times!

The butthurt non-3rd gen owners are just grasping at straws on the hate. They probably have a support group led by a lone neanderthal who likes to comfort them with teethy fellatio after each meeting.

Jalopnik is known to dislike pretty much anything Toyota does. You should avoid their reviews on Toyota products if you want truly objective reviews.

And the 3rd Gen owners get pretty butt hurt and shout out nonsense when anyone questions their precious trucks. Goes both ways.

I'm not a 3rd gen owner, but thanks for playing.

As for shouting out nonsense, maybe look into your cult leader, or your own hypocrisy.

That's the right way to do it. Too bad you're only one of the very few noblemen here in this place.
