I don't know if it'll rub - I feel like it won't, as 235s are only about 31.7" in diameter. I took them off before I got the 235s so I never tested it. I took them off for two reasons: I didn't like how they look, and when I was wheeling in Moab once in my friend's Tacoma, everytime he drove over rocks the scraping was so bad it sounded like we were breaking his truck. haha turned out it was just the mudflaps scraping on everything, since they're just a few inches off the ground and don't bend at all. I think I'm going to look into fitting some flexible mudflaps in the back eventually.

    Your truck looks good!

Thanks man. Yeah, manual would have been nice, but this just worked out better. Plus I have a WRX so it's kind of nice to take a break from shifting sometimes. Definitely an mpg loss - I think I used to be able to make 400 miles on my stock tires, now I'm down at 300-340ish. Though that's not taking the diameter change / odometer difference into account. Bit of a power loss, but it's a 4 cylinder, so I don't expect much. I will be regearing soon - maybe at the same time I install my rear locker. I think I'm going to go to 4.88s, but we'll see. Still conflicted about it. Love the setup though - I don't think I'll ever be running any other tire/wheel combo.

Awesome thanks! I looked it up and with 255s your off by about 8% on range. So your 324-367 miles actual. Think with the 4.10s I have with the manual I might not take such a big hit, I think you have 3.73s with the Auto. Once it stops being my daily and I actually armor it up and throw gear I'll probably just gear to 4.56s and put the lockers in as well. Yeah I don't like the wide tires either, to much cutting and aggravation involved with it

I think that might be 1st gen you're thinking of - I'm pretty sure all 2.7 2nd gens are 4.10. I could be wrong though. Either way, it'll feel better driving a manual cause you can control the rpms better.

    Thanks,
I may just wait for a lift eventually if ever, lol...

I'll probably just end up finding some other Coopers or maybe Generals to run for a while.
I really wanna get these Dunlops off of here...

Yeah that might be the case. I thought all autos have the 3.73... Regardless I'll probably be going with the Coopers in 255/85. Thanks for the info!

    OK cool,
    I thought it was 10/10...

Oh and FWIW I got my tint done,
Here is a quick before and after at the tint shop.
Just went 18% all the way around, with a 5" strip of 5% on the windshield.
More pics will eventually be in a mod thread of my own. They use 3M tint, and they do the best job I have ever seen.
This is like the 5th vehicle they have tinted for me. Lifetime warranty, and they tint to the edge and pre-heat the window edges so your
not waiting for days to roll your windows down and stuff. They use a computerized plotter/cutter that pre cuts the tint to
    exactly what your vehicle requires.

Lots more pics in my mod/build thread.

Got the compressor mounted, but still need to get the wiring figured out. Looks like a regear and armor will be coming in a few weeks once work slows down - 4.88s for now. Anyone have experience with 4.88s and a 2.7?

Took the Tacoma out for a late night drive with some PVS14s. Moon was a waxing gibbous, so if you've ever used NVG, you know those are some solid conditions. Saw an owl, tons of deer, and a moose - turns out they get surprised when you roll up on them with no headlights haha

    That's awesome man!

I got to help patrol a golf course for extra duty once. All dressed up and rolling around uber quiet with NVGs on.
Looks like a lot of fun bro.

I just ordered some 255/85s for myself. Hopefully they are in next week. So I'll let you know how they work with the manual and 4.10s. I think 33s are that weird size in the case of gearing. 4.56 not enough and 4.88 a little to much. I know most guys on 35s run 4.88s with the 4 cylinders.

That's awesome, that would be way fun on an electric golf cart ha. Yeah man, love night vision. There's something so rad about being able to walk around in complete darkness.

Yeah, for sure. That's my dilemma - maybe I just need to move up to 35s haha

That is perfect! Just what I was looking for.

Thanks man! Trying to avoid non-functional bling.

Simple and elegant....love it! Any rubbing with the 255s? With the dakars, I assume you are at about a 3inch lift?
