I'm guessing if they want to gain access to the vault you're better off giving them the code because they're going to destroy either the vault or your console or both to open it without the code.

If you're not a criminal than you don't have anything to worry about. ;)

Curious to the bolded. I am by no means trying to start a war of words, just confused by this.

I might be reading it wrong, or maybe some posts were deleted?

Does anyone know if the LockerDown version has the same gap as the Console Vault?

Talking about it on the public forum makes it no longer a private matter, which is why asking about storing illegal things and how search warrants and detaining work isn't forum friendly discussion.

I think "NOTAMETHHEADYOTA" would be more stealthy.

I would be willing to bet if they have a warrant to search your truck / vault /safe they Will Search it. If you cooperate or not. I'd also add that they can arrest you for obstruction for non-compliance with a warrant.

    Just 48 hours .... no.

Why would you give the cops a reason to search your car to begin with? If you don't give them cause to search your car they won't even know you have a vault.

But yes, I do believe they would need a warrant to search a locked container. However, if they already had a warrant to begin with (since you said "an extra warrant") they would not need a second warrant.

In most cases they only need Probable Cause to search the vehicle itself because the courts have determined that vehicles are highly mobile and therefore evidence can be moved or destroyed quickly and easily.

@UBYBC I installed this Console Vault in my 2015 Tacoma. Didn't even notice a gap. So either it's not there or my subconscious simply ignore it because it wasn't a big deal. lol
