We have them available on campus but I am not getting one for a few reasons:

    1. I already had it
    2. At the speed they rushed it into the market I donot feel confident in the long term effects. Look at what happened with the 3 shot vacine they rushed into the market a few decades ago..it csuse serious neurological damage.
    3. I am sick of all the buzz about it. It is just another strain of flu that everyone is blowing way out of proportion

Yea you already have the antibodies so your good to go. On the news they were saying that the number of new cases will decrease after people get the shot or they get the flu (lol).

    Cheers.

Only reason why we are having a another big outbreak is because the vaccine has the virus in it and people are showing signs and symptoms of the virus! But who new and what do I know. Plus the media blows everything out of porportion!!

The seasonal flu seems to actually be a bigger threat than swine flu...and I already got a seasonal flu shot, so I think that'll be all i'll take this season.

Not much swine flu in this neck of the woods.

Oh, except for my friend Matt who goes to school in Cheney, WA. He got swine flu because he played beer pong in a huge frat with half the people infected already.

Not me and if I were you I'd do alittle research on the negitive side of it since you are getting your kids done too, Ive read the side effects from the vacine can be far worse than the swine flu itself.:)

So what does this coincidence have to do with getting the flu shot?

What side effects are you referring to? I've heard others say the same thing but couldn't actually tell me what the concern is?

and what research have you done? My sister who's been an RN for over 15 years highly recommends everyone gets one, ESPECIALLY children.. several other friends of mine who are nurses also say to get one asap. not trying to start a fight or pick on you, but have you personally spoken with any physician?

    Yes your right Haze.

Here are the side effects. Of course, if you have an allergy to eggs, the possible side effect could be severe. :D

What are the possible side effects of the 2009 H1N1 flu shots?
The side effects from 2009 H1N1 flu shots are expected to be like those from seasonal flu shots. The most common side effects after flu shots are mild, such as being sore and tender, red and swollen where the shot was given. Some people might have headache, muscle aches, fever, and nausea or feel tired. If these problems happen, they usually begin soon after the shot and may last as long as 1-2 days. Some people may faint after getting any shot. Sometimes, flu shots can cause serious problems like severe allergic reactions. But, life-threatening allergic reactions to vaccines are very rare. A person who has a severe (life-threatening) allergy to eggs or to anything else in the vaccine should not get the shot, even if she is pregnant. Pregnant women should tell the person giving the shots if they have any severe allergies or if they have ever had a severe allergic reaction following a flu shot.
