What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Took delivery of these today and had enough time to apply first coat of primer.

 

Added a tonneau cover last week and today re-installed my HAM and CB antennas with new BAMF mounts. Only took a pic of the HAM antenna but the CB antenna is on the pass side corner. With a 6' whip I am getting a 1.1 and 1.5 swr reading (checking on channel 1 and 40). My 2' firestick is way too short and was off the charts. I'll try my 5' firestick tomorrow. What sucks is I have to park in a garage for work, so I can't leave my long antennas on. BAMF mounts worked well. Only pass side rubbed the tailgate a little bit. I bent it some and also added some clear XPEL protection to the edge of the tailgate and to the area right above the tail light. If anything rubs it will not be on the paint.

Did the first oil change and tested out the Tacomas towing ability.

Hooked up my pop up and drove around. Drives great compared to how my old ZJ towed. Can't wait to head out to the river next weekend.

All nice and clean! Took color matched paint pens to some deep scratches that wouldn't buff out.

I love em. I was going to get rid of them and get something black, like the XD Revolvers, but decided against it. Just going to repaint these.

If you want them, they are super easy to get ahold of man. There are currently 4 sets on FJs the junkyard down the road from me

 

Damn. They're not that easy to find here, so far as I've noticed.
If I could grab a set for junkyard prices I'd be in heaven.

Diff swap and new brake pads in my buddy's driveway. New 4.88 gears and a rear ARB locker.

 

I'm thinking about doing my calipers as well, also in red. Did you just tape/cover around them and leave them on when you painted?

 

Nope, just a local Firestone out in Fayetteville.

 

I have the same thing, but I live in Vegas and the sticky backing on the Velcro melted in the heat and kept falling off with any weight hanging from it when closed. Have you or anyone heard of an alternative method for attaching? I used large strips of Velcro from a crafts store. Just need to find something that won't melt in the heat here.
