I lifted my 2015 Tacoma with a AAL in the rear and 5100s. OME 8500/5100s front for 2.5" lift. Anyway I loaded it up for a camping trip and noticed some sag. It's a custom .5" AAL with factory springs which have the overload spring still in the mix. Hub centre to fender is 22.5" front and rear. I wanted the truck to sit level.

I know there are threads on here and I've read a number of them but I would like a direct solution to my question, which is this.

Will a AAL with more arch fix this problem or should I go to a complete leaf pack like the Dakar or Alcans etc?

Just go with a full leaf pack. An AAL is just a bandaid for those stock crappy springs

I put a shell on and knew I had to do something in the rear. almost went with an AAL but read alot on here and did a full pack instead. It sits solid. glad I did it

did the General Springs HD pack, 4 leafs and got about 1.5". Was going to do Wheelers 5 leaf and Im sure I would have been just as happy if not happier with those.

I dont wheel, I just needed support in the back and really wanted to keep it under 2"

I don't want a huge amount of lift and would like to keep the truck level but that part of the equation is not critical. Any suggestions for a pack that gives a nominal amount of lift. I would like to keep the hub centre to fender at about 22.5-23.5". So basically a 2.5" lift...I think. The shop told me the rear was a .5" AAL for 2.5" all around. The truck sits level with an open bed and when I have my cap on it.

I think wheelers 5 leaf is 2-2.5" with all 5 or 1.5-2" with one leaf pulled

the pack I bought has me around 23.5 (with shell on) hub to fender which is what I needed. if they settle a little thats all the better for me as i have the factory rake look back now

No airbags. I want something permanent. But thanks for the suggestion.

Good info. How do you like the wheelers pack? Would you choose the same ones if you had to do it again?

id be interested to see what you end up with that increases load handling without much lift.

    Subbed.

I didnt get the wheelers, decided to try this General Springs 4 leaf HD pack. Ive only had it on for a week so its too early to tell. but its an improvement from the OEM packs I replaced. not sure how they hold up long term. theres a lot more info out there on the wheelers, dakars, etc, etc

I'm curious about the same thing. How much do the Dakars lift the back end? I would assume they are designed to keep the front take with their OME coils, but which ones. What set of Dakars come with a kit that's has their 885 coils?

Only one set of Dakars for second gen (or for first gen), and I think the average lift height is 2.75/3 inches.

You can remove a leaf for less height but you'd still be well over your goal height I think.

I already have one thread on different springs bookmarked. Figured starting this thread would give me a direction on where to look.

This forum is so full of enthusiast and people willing to help that I will probably get my answers here.

I've said it a number of times and I'll say it again. This is the best forum I've belonged to. Instead of getting shit on for asking a question that was asked and answered, you get a forum full of people willing to help with advice and suggestions.

A 2.75/3" would work since I'm sitting at 2.5" front. It would give me some rake which might be a good thing since that height would have some room for sag. I'm sure I'll appreciate it when I load her up for my trip to Alaska/Yukon.
