I unbolted them, tied them up to take the weight off of the brake lines and put news paper behind it for over spray, I taped off all of the bolts and pins. Picked up the paint at Walmart for $3 on clearance

 

Can you post pics of the rear lights during the day. I wanted to do the same but didn't know if the housing would fit between the bumper and receiver hitch.

 

Made this rack using predrilled metal stock from Lowe's painted with some rattle can bed liner. I still need to tweak this a bit but it's a start and was pretty cheap to make.

 

How was it, I was tempted to buy some at Safeway, it was 8.99 for a 4-pack. I went for some 805 instead.

 

There is a new TSB out for the needle bearing for 4x4's. A member started a thread after he talked to the dealer. It's a little early, but it may fix vibration issues. Here it is:

Hey what bolt/but did you use to fit in to your bed rail system?? I had to custom cut a bolt and it didn't work out so well.

 

I used 3/8 x 16 T-SLot nut (part number

$23 41406T Black Oxide 1018 Steel Tapped Through T-Slot Nut, 3/8"-16 TPI, 5/8" Height x 7/8" Width x 9/16" Table Slot (Pack of 5)

41406T) from Amazon for the rail. I secured the metal stock to the T-SLot nuts with a couple of 3/8 threaded hooks from Tractor Supply. Sorry I don't know the part number for those. Finished it off by adding 1 inch standoffs to keep the stock from banging against the truck bed. I can post close up pics if it will help.

Yeah I know the feeling. I used stuff I had laying around as much as possible. I have a Undercover Hard Top so most of the side rails are devoted to that. This was really the only practical way I could mount both an axe and shovel. Also I wanted a setup that could be taken down easily and quickly. Good luck with your setup.

 

Gibson exhaust install on my tacoma and my father's 2013 2.7l single cab. Loving the sound so far, quiet when cruising on the freeway.

 

Power pop-n-lock installed. I was smart and checked the splice connections with the volt meter before buttoning that part up. I was not smart at the tailgate when I cycled the key fob 3 times and the thing didn't move. Took me a second to realize I had fed the wire through the tailgate and under the bed, but never finished that last connection. Easy install, and now this beer tastes great.
