If it has to be in Irving, definitely look in the Las Colinas (North) area. Stay close to 114 or above.

Flower Mound is more West/North West, but a much better area. I would listen to this guy if you can afford it.

I live in the North Fort Worth/Keller/Roanoke area and commute to Irving everyday. It takes me about 25 minutes in the morning with some traffic, and about 45 minutes to get home in heavy traffic. Rush hours seem to be 7:45a - 8:45a in the morning and 4:30p - 6:00p in the evening. If you would commute outside of that window, you are good. Very low crime. Great school districts. Keller was voted 7th best city in America to live several years ago, and has only improved since then.

What is this mysterious contraption you speak of? We put a window unit in the wall of the shed/garage. Used to work fine, now it's just a fan. Probably needs a recharge

My neighbor has a port-a-cool in his garage. Seemed to have nice cool air flowing out of it the one time I saw him using it last summer.

I agree this isn't bad as far as heat goes; but if you do not have to be hot why not enjoy some AC? I've done extreme temps in different crap holes but still appreciate the chance to find some shade and a cool breeze.

Drove 5 hours up to Fayetteville, Arkansas. 16.1 MPG. Cool.... :( I did find a gas station in Oklahoma that sells ethanol free gas though, so I got me some of that. Tundra got 18 MPG.

Exactly. Screw Iowa corn farmers. Oil makes gasoline and it's perfect all by itself.
