No OR allocated to my area. The closest one is 400 miles away.

I wonder why? That could also be for the first allocation in which they aren't giving dealers any more than 2 Tacomas in early/mid september. I believe the second allocation is the beginning of October which is what I'm going for with my '16 TRDOR. If not that I will have to try for the third allocation... Just hoping it arrives before the snow starts to fall so I can get my rust prevention done without any issues

I'm in PA and got nearly the exact truck as you. Nothing was allocated for what I wanted in the Mid Atlantic region at the time. I put my order in on Thursday. They estimate mid/late October at the earliest or beginning November at the latest.

Okay, so I might be one of those stuck paying MSRP...for now. I had earnest money down on a white TRD OR (Model 7544) for $36193. The only saving grace is that I got them to commit to 30K for my 2014 TRD OR with 20,000 miles. With doc fee my trade difference was only $6442. Not bad in my opinion, and I really didn't mind paying MSRP in that scenario. That is until I decided I really couldn't live w/o the tech package (Another 3K).. I really only want the tech package for two reasons. Dual climate and blind spot detection. I have poor vision in my right eye and it's a bit of a safety issue for me. My wife's MDX had BS detection, and after some time in her car I realized I'd be a fool to buy another car w/o it. My local dealer was able to locate and reserve a model 7544 with all the same equip PLUS tech and I'm now looking at a price tag of $39,531 or a trade difference of $9780. I can't decide if I'm still "okay" with the deal since I'm paying for a lot of features won't use like heated seats and the moon-roof may create a headroom issue.

Finding the better truck also means I will be waiting until the end of September instead of next week. I guess that will give me some time to find a competing deal. I'm fortunate enough to be right between two sales regions so I can pick from trucks in the gulf states region and the kansas city region depending on which dealer I talk to. I hope I can gain some leverage, but I feel like there sin't much room to move at the moment.

I'll post the spec sheet when they send it over.

While in the dealer yesterday, I aw this really nice 2015 TRD Pro. It was black and the dealer threw on about $4k in additional stuff. Tonneau Cover, front bar, blacked out grill, blacked out Toyota emblems on the side, the wheels were dipped and are now a shiny black. Really looked great. To the point where it is making me second guess the 2016 limited. The MSRP on the one they have in there is about $38k

do they tell you this before or after you order? They want to move their inventory on the lots before they like for someone to order one.

They told me after my order. The salesman was a friend of my cousin and he knew what I wanted so he didn't try to sell me on any extra crap.

As stated in another thread - DCLB OR with JBL, All weather mats and door sill protectors, predator tube step, towing - MSRP 39,753 - paying dealer invoice of 37,372 +tax. This is in Denver, CO. DCLB OR are hard to come by b/c they are only making a limited number of them - I think it is 1% or so of total each month if the sheets we saw in early August are correct.

Nice, good job. I may have to give them a call if I can't find any dealers near me wanting to come off MSRP by more than $100.

I keep telling people - call the internet sales or fleet sales department not some floor person. The internet guys will deal every time. This one will usually go invoice less holdback but since it is a new model only will go invoice. I'm OK with that this time but in 6 months I'd be wanting holdback too.

As long as people are paying MSRP or close to it the dealers have no incentive to sell for less. I learned this back in 1980 when they were selling for MSRP+. No way am I buying a truck because I have to have it.

Yes, I have been dealing strictly with fleet/internet people. Just no movement on the price with them. Told them I had cash and was ready to buy when the price was right and left it at that.

My salesman said he would reach out to me when it gets a build date. When he said it might be as late as November he said he didn't want to "over promise and under deliver".

Very good points of advice. I read that Toyota holdback is 2% of the base MSRP. They also recommend only exposing the holdback knowledge when the dealer tells you they are only breaking even. Good stuff.

I am going to meet with the Internet Manager in the AM. Going to see what mine will be worth on a trade towards the same truck with T & P.... or 2WD Limited and 4WD in both models. The key is the difference I have to write a check for. I am expecting $7k on the 2WDs and $10K on the 4WDs even though he told me there would not be a $10K difference. If they dd not over allow on the trade it could be $12K for the 4WD Limited and or Sport....In that case I will keep mine or go for the 2WD.
