The insanely rare B&M short shifter just came up for sale on XRU for 400 from a guy in L.A.

They don't make them anymore and they are rated for having the best feel and shortest throws. URD 40% less TRD 30% less B&M about 50% less and the build quality.

That's crazy how much shorter that is.
    Idk which one I want
$400 is a lot to spend on a shifter
I'm honestly leaning twords URD just based on price reasons

It really is a lot to spend, but that's the price you pay for the best. I really did love my urd only complaint was because your adding that extension to the shifter the top of the shifter sits almost 2 inches higher and my arm didn't lay flat on the center console anymore, but that's why Coupe mods and sells them to reduce the length of the shifter it self. You should have bought mine when I messaged you buddy. I left it on the x because I didn't have a stock shifter to switch out.

Short Shifters are annoying in my opinion.

It's one thing if your bangin gears in a Subaru or something fast, but a Tacoma? I ran short throw to not miss a gear or save synchros when I did miss one while powershifting in my mustang. Nothing kills a 1/4 mile ET like missing a gear

I drove a Subaru the other day with one and I hated it.

I wouldn't drive a manual without a short shifter. Ever manual I own that was one the second or third upgrade.

Agreed having driven with and with out it. I wouldn't drive without one. For the Tacoma 6spd it is an upgrade well worth it.
That's why there's the URD for 110.00 I was just letting him know what his options are out there.

I feel like a short throw shifter would just make me feel like my taco is a sports car, every shift would make the ride uncomfortable to me. My brother has a wrx and I don't mind it there because the faster you shift the more comfortable it is. I do need a new shift knob though, I have seen a couple of nice ones on here.

How does it make the ride uncomfortable? It makes your shifts easier, more precise, and faster. Reverse isn't as bad as everyone says.

Well I am only speaking from the experience from having it in a sportier car, not my truck, so I'm not positive it would make it more uncomfortable. I feel like am in no rush to shift in the truck, like shifting too fast jolts just as much as too slow. I feel like with a short throw I would always shift too fast. But I may be wrong. Maybe, based on your input I should try it then?

I may take you up on that, thanks for the tip. I'm at the vw dealer in Scottsdale right now, hurry up and get it on and come pick me up. I have been waiting for an oil change and brake flush on my fiancés car for an hour and a half.

I can see benefits when wheeling on a hill and needing to grab another gear. 1st to 2nd mostly though.

After rowing gears in both of my cars, I have the automatic in my Tacoma and prefer it. Just a shiftless bastard here.

I wouldn't mind an automatic honestly, I bought my manual because it was a great deal compared to the other crap I saw that weekend. I only have one weekend to buy the truck though I had been looking for 3 months for a good purchase. But the manual is a lot more fun on smooth dirt roads.

I can see where the manual is nice at times. (And I prefer it on my sporty car). But slow crawling up a loose rocky hill the auto is nice for not having to master the clutch all day long.
