man.. all this talk has me thinking F150 now.. or at least a fullsize.. over the new Taco..

fullsize wont fit in our garage though.. but the interior space, power, and creature comforts is tempting.. especially for the price..

whats the MPG rating for the 5.0 and 3.5 ecoboost?

No, the max payload configuration is not available at that trim. However, even that package gets about 2200 lbs of payload from what I'm seeing so you should be fine.

Even with package 101A (power everything and sync), FX4, and trailering package I priced out that truck for under 35K CAD. You MIGHT be able to get that for 30K USD. Which is a pretty good steal. Just remember the XL trailing package doesn't come with the built in brake controller, but the dealer can install that for about $300. I highly recommend it if you tow at all.

My wife gets 20 mpg combined on our 2015 Supercrew F150 V8 5.0 L 4x4. I'm guessing if you watched the skinny pedal you could get maybe another 5% over that with the 3.5 L Ecoboost, but if you stomp on it you will fall off into the teens pretty quick.

This is me. The Tacoma and Camry is about all that would fit in my little garage. Well, a fullsize would technically FIT, but door dings would become a common problem.

interesting.. I think I would end up going with the ecoboost.. test drove one years ago when they first hit the lots.. liked it. might have to go check a Ford dealer sometime..

ahhh yeah.. it wouldnt fit length wise for me. I have about a foot, foot and a half, left after my truck is parked in the garage.

my rental while they replaced my frame was a 2015 quad cab f150 ecoboost. the 3.5 ecoboost is no joke, that thing was quick. and for the 500 miles i had it, i averaged 20 mpg

36 gallon fuel tank available F-one-fitty. One of the disappointing things about the 2016 Taco is it still has the tiny 21 gallon tank.

Screw 26 gallons. I'm not sure exactly how big it is, but my wifes truck takes over 120 L of gas when empty. It can go over 1300 km on a tank sometimes!

I suppose fuel tank size was 23rd on Sweers list just below towing. Or maybe it wasn't considered at all. Sure would be a nice feature to have a 26 gallon tank stock.

I could snap a pic of my F150 w/ 5.0 crusing down the highway showing 25-30 mpg's.

I paid 30K out the door for my 2015 Tacoma DCSB 4x4 SR5. I'm sure one will be able to do the same on a similar 2016. What's the sticker on an XLT 4x4 F150 crew cab?

Thanks, I think it would work...really anything over that is overkill.

The 101A was the package I was looking at, power windows are a must....that with vinyl seats and rubber flooring... vinyl does get hot/cold...was looking at those Carhartt canvas covers to solve that problem....the vinyl/rubber would hold up better for me. I tend to destroy carpet and cloth.

My last F150 had the 36 gallon tank. It took a quarter tank to go up to our farm and back. It also takes a quarter tank to make the same trip in my Tacoma, 21 gallon tank.
Almost all highway speed country roads, few stops.

Sticker on our truck was just under 51K CAD. We paid just over 41K CAD OTD. Our truck is a 2015 F150 XLT XTR Supercrew 4x4 V8 package 301A with the XTR appearance package. There are a few other random options on the truck as well because it was an on lot sort of deal. Check out the Canada forums. Most guys here are paying 42K-45K for TRD Sport trucks.

BTW that's not instantaneous mileage in that picture. That's average after driving around town for 2 1/2 hours.

Remember to get the trailer package. You get a bit beefer front end with it.

Lol, the 2.7 L hasn't even been out long enough to make any judgments either way.

I think your bias is showing

Indeed. I WOULD NOT own a full size pickup without a V8. And, I have experience with the 3.5 Echo-crap...I'm so sure the smaller displacement is going to perform better
