URD MAF calibrator install

    hello all!

    I purchased a MAF Calibrator off another member here and was wondering if anyone has some experience installing it on the 2012, and might be willing to help cause my soldering skills are non existent. I also am waiting for the diagrams from URD so I know which wire goes where. I finally got around to installing my CAI last night so I'm excited to see what the calibrator does.

    SDHQ can install these for you. If you have the diagram its not very hard but you are going to cut/splice into your ECU's wiring harness.

    agreed, its not hard at all.................. just gotta be flexible............being 6'1 and 250ish aint exactly the best for install, but Ive done a couple

    Haha, Yes it is hard to get to some of the wires that's for damn sure. I have a wire stripper that removes the coating inline. That tool helps out a bunch but still getting an iron in there is rough.

    Not sure havent recieved it yet so I wont know till i get it. I just like planning ahead. Also talked to Gadget on the phone today before ordering and since the phone connection was so bad i kept it short, i didnt want to be annoying saying "what!" A million times. But why exactly does the trd supercharger not need the MAP sensor option?

    Too few to list.
    I've done the install a couple of times and instructions by URD is pretty straight forward. The hardest part was soldering the wires but not entirely necessary to be soldered.

    beware, if any problems arise....Gadget usually asks specifically if you soldered the connections. Issues have come up using taps.

    This is tapped into your ECU's harness. I'd only solider the connections. Wire taps could come loose or not make a good enough connection.

    AFAIK you do need the MAP sensor for ALL forced induction.

    I have the MAF cal sitting on the shelf, have been kicking around adding some soldered quick connects to ECU wiring and MAF Cal wiring so i can connect it and disconnect it when i want to...IE when visiting the dealership lol

    Because you're adjusting the tune based off of the truck's MAF sensor. No need to use a MAP sensor.

    It won't hurt by any means, having the MAP sensor. Just an additional form of tuning.

    My ProEFI uses a MAP sensor. When I'm using it, the MAF sensor isn't used.
