Your calculations are based around this number. If you don't get the Tech package, the Sport and OR is a better deal. I won't be getting HH or FP. Big waste of money in my head

Wonder if they'll fit the 3rd gen.

What am I saying of course they'll fit gen 2.5.

The Sport also has an upgraded suspension. The Limited shares its suspension with the SR and SR5.

    There's also the bed outlet.

I'd say the chrome and hood scoop cancel each other out as purely subjective cosmetic differences.

The Limited has Leather and Homelink, while the Sport has a tighter suspension and the 110V. They're pretty much dead even, just designed for different lifestyles. I don't have a garage, and I hate leather and chrome, so the Limited isn't a bargain for me.

Edit: Limited has the 110v in the bed, too.

Hey, if usaa is giving me a discount I could give a fuck what they do and don't do. Money saved is money saved.

What is the USAA discount for those sensor packages? I have USAA but my current car doesn't have anything like that

Oh, mine doesn't either. Someone stated earlier that they will give a discount.

If it were not for the Premium and Tech packages , i would not be looking at a 16 Sport or Limited, at this point in time.

TBH, getting the premium and tech package to save money in insurance is probably worse then buying a diesel to save on fuel economy. I bet it saves you $20 a year or less.

How is the suspension upgraded in the Sport? In what way? You can add the sway bar to the Limited for about $200. I also believe that the 110v outlet in the bed comes with the Limited too.

Regarding the hood scoop. I really wish I could get that in the Limited.

They haven't listed it yet. They gave it for my last two cars that had extra safety measures designed to prevent accidents. It isn't much, but I keep cars FOREVER so it all adds up over time.

What's really funny is when I run into these clipboard wielding over-eager salespeople asking me how much would I like to save on my insurance by switching to them, and I drop the "I'm with USAA" line. They leave me alone after that.

Whatever "sport-tuned" means. Maybe it's just a different sway bar, I dunno. And you're right. The Limited does come with the bed outlet. So I guess it really just comes down to hood scoop and sway bar vs chrome and leather.

Being that most of the "leather" is Softex and not real leather, I think the $380 difference sounds about right. Really makes me think they should have added a few extra features to the Limited, like those power seats everyone seems to be obsessed with.

The softex in my 2014 Rav4 feels nicer than the leather in the 2010 4Runner that was traded. The softex in my 2014 Rav4 is light years better than the leather in my mom's 2010 Rav4 Limited.

I'm basically in the camp of wanting a very adjustable manual seat or a memory power seat. Slide and recline only would be annoying if the seats don't happen to fit well by chance.

Oh, I'm not ripping on the Softex. It's simply not as expensive as genuine leather, so I'm taking that into account in the cost comparison.

I have USAA and my wife has Wawanesa. Last time someone got her in their office to check pricing, the "Money Saving Companies" was 1200 dollars MORE than she was paying with Wawanesa. She will switch to USAA when our marriage license and name change goes through.

Yea, I thought I wanted USAA too because my wife has it until I went through the Costco program which undercut them by a good bit.

I was hit by someone intentionally out to defraud (bitch cut me off and locked up their brakes to try to get me to hit her). USAA sent private investigators after them and must have caught them. They dealt with the police, and went after the fraudster. The accident was removed from my record, and my rates never went up.

Turns out the fraudster had done this to three other people, and their insurance companies settled rather than fight. USAA fought.

    I will never leave them.

That is correct Eric. Thanks for clearing that up. I really wish people would read. There is enough information on this forum that lays out the configuration for all Tacoma models. Some of you people are going to be in for a toatl surprise when you visit the dealership. I always say do your home work carefully before engaging in negotiations with the stealership. A well inform edcuated buyer will most likely come away from the table with a good deal.

Ah hoid that. My outfit took care of me, too by taking the city of Austin to court when they wouldn't pay for my crushed A-pillar from a malfunctioning parking entrance arm.
Nice to feel something bedsides contempt toward an insurance company for a change. However, I will move on if someone saves me enough money.
