    2. At the speed they rushed it into the market I donot feel confident in the long term effects. Look at what happened with the 3 shot vacine they rushed into the market a few decades ago..it csuse serious neurological damage.
    3. I am sick of all the buzz about it. It is just another strain of flu that everyone is blowing way out of proportion

Stolen from Dgerm But there is no way that they did enough testing on this before they started giving this shot out. I deal with it if I get it my 7yr old cousin had and it was a bad week but hes fine now.

Im not saying don't get it done go for it. Alot of doctors feel that young people and kids in general are not building strong immune systems from all these flu shots etc

For those of you who say it is a big risk: Isn't getting in your truck every day (with it being 3000lbs +, traveling 60+ mph) a huge risk also? Because it is a risk, does that mean you are never going to drive again, let alone ride in a vehicle?

Anyway I will let you guys and your children be the guinea pigs for research. There really is no evidence either way whether it will help or harm, and that is exactly why I have no faith in it, or the long term effects

    to be determined

Research? it's approved by the FDA.. it's not research if it's been proven to block the virus from spreading.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but at least have some basis for your decisions, stop listening to the news channels and research through your local medical field and see what they have to say about it. My sister and her family CAN'T get it because they live in such a highly populated area and it's so hard to get enough. She's a nurse and works in neo natal icu, and yet she can't get a vaccine yet? it's crazy to think of what they are prospectively allowing her to expose to the these children who are already sick.

Your chances of dying in a car accident tomorrow morning at exactly 8am are better than your chances of having complications from a flu vaccine.

Its been proven to block the virus which is good, but there has not been enough research to say what it does to the body unrelated to the flu, and in the long term.

The swine flu is not the end of the world. Its not like the vaccine is a must have or you die for people with a healthy immune system (which I assume is a right assumption about many of the members of this forum).

Plus how is listening to my news stations any part of this. Everything I have heard on the news is all about getting the vaccine.

You talk about research, take a look into what happened with the 1976 Swine Flu vaccine and the long term effects of that. The government told everyone that the swine flu will be a killer, advertised the vaccine and rushed it to the market. It was approved by the CDC and was proven to block the flu virus. The governemnt is being sued for 3.5 billion dollars in damages from that vaccine for anything ranging from death to permanent neurological damage.

Wasn't there a swine flu pandemic in the 70's as well? My wife is a nurse and works for the Veterans Hospital, her boss told her that in the 70's people did get the vaccine and it's probably the reason why older people are not affected by the H1N1 virus as much and that the younger generation are more susceptible to it. Her boss's advise was to get the shot. I am leaning on the side of caution and waiting to see if there are any negative effects. But, I too am worried not for me but for my 3 year old daughter. I don't want to be in the situation where i'm gonna regret my decision and have it backfire on me later on. It's quite a dilemma...

Wow .... Almost 2/3 are not getting it. There's absolutely no evidence that the shot will harm you and lots of evidence indicating that the virus can kill you.

    Interesting poll result!

I'm waiting on the Australian made version of the shot. All I have access to now is made in China and I don't really trust it. Anyway, until my odds of dying from the swine flu are equal to dying in a car accident, there still is no reason to panic. The real problem will come when N1H1 mutates overnight and begins a more virulent pandemic that can't be planned for.

Not getting it. Never have gotten a flu shot and I'm not about to start now. I am a firm believer that this swine flu or H1N1 is all a load of HORSE SHIT!!!!
