It was preseason, but TWD beat out regular season games on 5 occassions, per the article. It mentioned that the 4 remaining episodes will be up against regular season football, so we'll see how that fares. I really don't keep track of all that stuff, honestly. lol

Yeah me neither but it is interesting to see for new shows/beginning of seasons. I like to know if I need to get invested or not. If it is poor ratings on the first few eps I know this show is a goner and don't have to try and buy in so much. I don't think we have anything to worry about for Fear.

I hate when shows are great, then you can tell they have lost funding and the entire show gets so bad you just watch for the story line...
Also haven't watched episode 2 yet in fear it won't come on for labor day and ill go into withdraws

Me too. These are actually still great ratings for the show, but since it was a decline it's not getting much press. From what I have read from early critic reviewers that have seen the whole season already, the only slow episodes were the first two, with the remaining leaving you breathless. Can't wait for these 2 weeks to pass!

But yeah, +1 on it being another great episode! I had to avoid this thread for 4 days until I watched it. And that cop had the right idea: Provide for my own & fuck the rest. He just needs meds and he's set. Looking forward to the next episode and like the rest of you, counting down the dayzzz...

Just one thing I gotta say.......... Tobias, there's more than one knife in the world, dammit! Go home!!!

Tobias is one of my favorite characters. He is similar to Eugene in the original show, not really good for fighting but smart and planned out. I hope he becomes apart of our main group in fear the walking dead.

As soon as he figures out to go for the head, he'll be golden. And hopefully there won't be any stairs around .-.

Yeah, Labor Day weekend is the reason no new episode this Sunday. For some zombie action, you guys should binge watch Z Nation on Netflix to get ready for season 2 next week.

Well, it turns out that there wasn't a decline at all once the delayed viewing numbers rolled in. Here is clip from the article by Variety:

The ratings tally for the second outing of AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead” grew by a whopping 3.5 million viewers with three days of time-shifted viewing factored in.
Total viewership climbed to 11.7 million with Nielsen’s live-plus-3 ratings, up from 8.2 million for Sunday’s premiere. In adults 18-49, the L3 numbers brought in another 2.4 million for a total of 7.6 million, a 46% gain from Sunday’s live-plus same-day numbers.

So the audience is growing quite well since the pilot premiere. That's definitely a success by AMC and hopefully with this news we can get more Chris Hardwick and another Talking Dead aftershow. :D

I've never watched talking dead for the original series...

I hope the rest of the season is as good as they say it will be. Maybe they will get to the point where either Fear or TWD is on so there is never a void where I'm zombieless on TV

I enjoy Talking Dead as much as I do TWD. Nice to see the cast out of character and learn their view points on the characters and how the show is evolving.

The show runner, Scott Gimple said in an interview regarding FTWD that in essence, they could have a show on for 52 weeks out of the year. I know he's exaggerating, but the point was that the goal would be FTWD on the off season of TWD.
