    i like box squats,
It allows you to change the mechanics of your squat, change your muscle load and tension through horizontal hip movement etc.

My wife wasn't motivated for a couple of weeks, she did go to the gym but only to tan. Over the weekend she said I'm tired of looking at myself and being hot all the time in the house. So she started going back to the gym yesterday after work. I asked her what she did and she said she did some weights and did the treadmill for 15 minutes after the weights which equaled a mile. She was a little frustrated this morning she said I don't even know why I go all I do is gain weight. I said well we are going to have to do better on what we eat. I said have you "liked" bodybuilding.com or a woman fitness that may post topics on weight loss or fat loss? She said no. I said well you might want to do a little research and then when you go to the gym you will know which workouts to do and then you can learn the nutrition side of is which is the most important. I was thinking maybe if something like that posted up on her Facebook news feed she might would click on it and atleast read it. You guys think that might work? I'm trying to help all I can but sometimes I don't think when she does weights, she doesn't push herself as far as more weight. I think she thinks as long as shes doing it thats all that matters. We go together when we are off work and our daughter goes to daycare and I've seen her does like leg press and machine bench and doing 15-20 reps like it isn't nothing. All other times we go seperate b/c I go to the gym and then go get our daughter at 5 and then my wife goes. ANy help or guidance I need

Tell her if she doesn't feel like a vein is about to pop in her forehead on her last rep, she needs to up the weight. There are so many people at my gym that just go through the motions and don't put in any effort. If your muscles ain't screaming, you're not doing anything worthwhile. Every time I leave the gym, my muscles are crying. If you want results, you've got to put in the work. There literally thousands of great free workouts "geared towards women" on websites like bodybuilding.com. It doesn't matter if a workout is designed by a woman or a man. A good workout is a good workout. Women burn fat and build muscle the exact same way men do. I will say a woman is more likely to do a workout with pictures of women on them, rather than one with pictures of Arnold on them, although the workout is usually the same. Most women don't understand that you burn more calories by lifting weights compared to cardio. Cardio also burns muscle, which just makes you look skinny. Lifting weights makes you look fit. Tell her to kill 2 birds with one stone and go lift the hell out of some weights for about an hour a day, 4-5 days a week and cardio is optional, but for some reason, women love cardio :notsure:

Diet is simple: just go to iifym.com and check out the iifym calculator and it'll tell her exactly how many calories to eat, how much protein, carbs, and fat to eat in order to lose/maintain/or gain weight.

Here are some great workouts that are more attractive to women because of who is in the pictures, although they're great for both men and women:

Notice the first one has Jamie Eason all over it  she's so hot

you can help her find motivation but she has to be the one to internalize it and work toward a goal.

Give her information and stock your place with more fruits and vegetables than meat. (Which means you have to have a diet change as well)

Also see of she can join a group. I would have never gotten into lifting if it were not for my friends lifting with me.

There's IMO a really good documentary out on Hulu (or Netflix) called "The Perfect Human Diet" - if you eat like that you will have all building blocks to gain muscle, control blood sugar levels and will generally live healthier than the rest.

Thanks, I will pass these along to her. I told her about Jamie Eason and that she would have some good articles to look at. I'm sure Paige Hathaway has some too.

    Daaaaamn

Haven't seen it, but I have noticed huge changes in the way I feel and at the doctor after focusing on micronutrients, as well as macros. I pay really special attention to my potassium and sodium levels and that keeps my blood pressure super low.

I have shakeology daily. I was reluctant at first.. but it's filling and I like it a lot! I became a coach for beachbody soon after to get the discount on that. Let me know if you are interested in getting a sample sent. Spence
