Right now I just mail the knives back to the various companies and they sharpen them for free. I'd like to get a solid sharpening system to be able to take care of it myself.

I am gonna sell the various parts I took off when I lifted my truck so might have some cash to use. I've been on the fence with Edge Pro because of the cost. Life is expensive.

I've heard the lansky and spyderco sharpeners are good too and they're pretty cheap

God damn it.... I threw one of these sets away when clearing out an apartment I help manage at the end of july.

I have been using a gerber pocket sharpener and a kitchen sharpener, then wet stone. For big work I have metal smithing files. But I think I might get that lansky 5 stone set.

A fine file if they are really dull. Then this. super cheap but very effective.

I've had this one for about 15 years.

I keep an accusharp in my hunt pack. It's the best tool for knife sharpening in the dark with bloody hands.

I even use it on my Scandi knife grinds. It's works pretty well.

I've used it on my regular use $100 chef knife for years with no issues.

It works perfectly fine on the side of an Idaho mountain and you're only halfway thru the butchering of a bull elk. It's sleeting, dark and you have multiple pack trips out to get the dead thing to the truck.

And the knife is a $14 mora. Works perfectly fine. I got home, layed the bevel down flat on a waterstone and touched it up.

A micro bevel on a Scandi isn't the end of the world. Heck, I'm using a woodcutting bevel on meat. I micro bevel kinda helps.

But yea, it's the wrong grind for the accusharp. True that.

Interesting thing about a Scandi. Helle to be exact. They actually recommend their sharpener for their knives. It just like the accusharp. Coarser. It feels unnatural how it grinds so aggressive. I don't use it.
