Thank you. I love the functionality of them. I actually plan on remaking them. That was my first fiberglass attempt. I just bought a nice welder though so I may make V2 out of sheet metal.

Have you had any issues with the awning sticking out on either side of the vehicle in the rear? Police officers? hitting shit while you are driving? rattleing while at hw speeds? etc?

No issues. It was more of an experiment on these last two trips. I hate look but love the functionality. It does catch a bunch of branches down tight forest roads though.

No, Mine is a standard SnugTop Rebel. I removed the side windows to install the Rotopax mounts and changed the single light to LED strips but besides that I did not make any modifications.

That's what mine is. The lady at Snugtop I talked to said all the shells are capable of holding 200 lbs, unless you request to have it "reinforced" at time of ordering, then it can hold 500 lbs. Weird.

It also depends whether those ratings are for kinetic or static load capacities. Most of those ratings are kinetic ratings because they assume you will be moving with the load that's on there. If you consider the fact that I only have the RTT, Awning and rack weight on the canopy while I am driving then I am within the 200lb load capacity. The static load is where I have about 510lbs on top.

I'm finally back in the Tacoma camper top gang!!!!

I had an ARE Z-Series on my 2002 Tacoma... Scored off Craigslist for $350!

    Picture%20132_zpscfm1xi6z_2a2b42fb15e9e844120b182a641fb33932d2b16f.jpg

After that truck was totaled, turned around sold it for $550!

Picked up my 2015 in February and have been looking for a black Z-series or Leer 100XQ all over SE Craigslists since... I think I've seen 1 black Leer 100XQ pop up but it was 5 hours away. Helluva a deal at $550, couldn't get there in time and it sold.

Found a silver ARE Z-Series 2 hours away from me for an AWESOME price! Went and picked it up yesterday after work!!!

I already have a few phone quotes to get it color-matched and should end up with less than a $1k in it!!!

Wish I could find one anywhere close for that much... Never find the Z anywhere...

Get one of those craigslist search apps (or programs if you're on a PC)... Has helped me get good deals on several things, as long as you don't mind driving a little ways.

They have apps that will search multiple cities for whatever you are looking for. Are you using one of them? That's the way to go...

Would you happen to have more pictures of your truck? I'd love to see what your brush guard and rear bumper bars look like.. It looks like exactly what I want to do to mine!
