I'm in the market now. I've been waiting a year, and my wife will have my neck if I don't get something with 4WD for the winter, since i had some pretty exciting adventures with my 1998 Accord last year. I'm not trying to jump the gun, just trying to get the best deal that I can right now, not being able to wait ~6 months or so.

Has anyone tried Truecar for pricing on the Tacoma? The only thing you have to go to participating dealers.

I'm at $33,855 (including all dealer fees etc...) without TTL for a TRDOR AC 4X4 with towing, tonneau cover and, all weather floor mats. This is $1974 below MSRP.

I just want to know where you guys are getting these invoice numbers from. What's the source? How could I price my potential truck out this way?

I just call or email the Internet manager. They are far more likely to shoot invoice pricing than a floor sales guy using the old skewl process.

Based on the numbers being posted in this thread . The internet sales guy at the dealership holding my deposit is taking me for an easy $4,000 in early adopter anal rape. Time to shop around.

Just call them and tell them what you will pay based on the numbers. There are plenty of us getting these at or near invoice. Swimmer was getting hosed, called my Denver dealer which is a bit far from him (several hours) but they offered him the same as me - invoice. He took that to his local who dropped their price immediately to invoice +500 to avoid losing the sale. Play hardball, you don't have to be a dick to do so just gather the facts from the various threads (one of the threads has all the models and options listed) and tell them exactly what you will pay - but shop it far as far and wide as you are willing to drive or fly - they want the sale - remember they need the sales to get more allocations next time to keep business flowing. They have lots of wiggle room to move some at invoice and some at MSRP, just don't pay MSRP or negotiate from down from MSRP - negotiate from invoice less holdback upward.

Okay, I've gotta call BS on some of these prices. There are two sides to this equation...how much are you guys getting on your trades? I've been talking to several dealers in three states and I generally get one of two offers...

#1 Great price on the truck but crappy trade.
#2 Close to MSRP on the truck and better trade.

If you are post "invoice" offers, please be sure to post what you are trading and how much you are getting for it as well so we can put things in perspective. I'd really like to hear from someone who walks in with cash in hand and see what offer is posted.

    My $.02

Zero - I have no trade.

[edit - never tie your trade to your purchase until after you agree on the purchase price - and be willing to walk or deal with the sale yourself - they will hose you on the trade in a New York second and you can sell any car for more than any dealer will give you on a trade - its not that hard]

Or take a low trade value and then back out of the trade in. We did that for our Civic. Was offered 1800 for the trade and given a deal on the car. Backed out of the trade in and took the car for the deal offered. Sold the car a week later for 4800 cash

Nothing gives more confidence that having a real offer to negotiate against. Like tpak said, my dealer would barely give me the time of day. Told me to come back early next year if I didn't want to pay MSRP. Boom, two days later they are $500 over invoice. I'm probably still not going to buy from them just being tools.

Also, no trade involved in my purchase price. Straight cash deal.

I believe it was premium and tech with JBL, but I don't have it with me at the moment.

The TTF is (mostly) non-negotiable. The quote appears to be $750 below invoice plus TTF. If that is the case, that is a good deal. I would also consider your quote of $500 below invoice plus TTF a good deal
    on a new model.
