    Hello All,

First time Toyota owner here; 2005 SR5 Access Cab Auto/2.7. I inherited the truck from my father a little over a year ago bone stock with only 31k miles on it. I needed something to tow my motorcycles to the track so the build began. I still have a number of things to do but I’m pleased with the results so far.

Huge thanks to all that have posted info on this site. Right, wrong or indifferent it’s nice to see product reviews as well as different points of view. And a special thanks to Tooter for all the Dyno work!!!

    Hello Petey,

Thank you and more mods are definitely in the future. Aux. Trans Cooler goes in tomorrow and then I focus primarily on the ride (bushings, shocks, thicker front sway?)

New gearing would be nice for the hills but that will be towards the end of the upgrades. Visually I’d like to get it set up with fogs, driving lights and maybe light for the back of the cargo basket but the other stuff is more important for now.

Gave my truck a bath and tried to evict all the spiders that have been living on it for a few months now. Best drive way decoration I've ever had. LOL.

    Photo-bomb!

I've now got it to where i largely want it - for now. When the rubber wears out in a year or two, i'm looking at replacing the 225/75/R16 tires with a higher profile 235/85R16 tire and am going to kick the rims out for a wider track with a spacer setup, and i've got a PrInSu Accesscab roof rack inbound at present. However, beyond those additional major changes, this base truck is pretty much hitting the sweet spot as to where i wanted to go with it as a ruggedized commuter during the week, and a recreational toy-hauler for the weekend.

Major external parts list/mods, as follows:

    RTX Arsenic 16x7 +40 offset aftermarket rims - used - kijiji.ca
    225/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler ST tires - used - kijiji.ca
ARB Deluxe front bumper - new - 4wheelparts.ca
Fab Fours rear bumper - new - 4wheelparts.ca
    Weathertech in-channel window visors - new - 4wheelparts.ca
Extang Trifold Solid Cover - used - kijiji.ca
ReadyLift SST 2.75/1.75" spacer/AAL lift kit
Bilstein 4600 front struts/5100 rear shocks

Yup.. same here, totally bummed that it is/was a USA only thing :(

Would love a "5-Lug Slug" or grab "Old School" and plop it on top of an SR5 badge on the tailgate .. yes, i'm about that old.

I'm interpreting it as basically a restylized modern version of the earlier Toyota Pre-1990 badging.

    4554d1102711457-new-toyota-emblem-toyota_2e882b1a0911302322e9d3099eea91d9da19c8f2.jpg

This is 'supposedly' the Toyota Trucks emblem .. haven't found reference to it as being officially used by Toyota .. It's all rather beyond me, whether devil's horns, or Toyota Trucks..
