Toytec add-a-leaf shifting apart ??

    '09 Pyrite DCLB TRD Supercharged
    So the last couple days i've been getting a squeek noise coming off from a take-off on my rear pass side. I have the toytec ultimate lift kit w/ the non tsb aal. My question is that when i got under the car it looks like the leafs on that pass side look like they are shifting apart. I'm guessing this is causing the noise but why are my leafs shifting apart and how urgent is this/what can i do to fix it permenantly....

    Straigten it out, and check the torque on your U bolts.

    I kinda figured but should i use some threadlock on the bolts ? I'd hate to have this be a repetitive thing.

    If the U bolts are torqued to the correct amount, it shouldnt happen. I wouldnt use thread locker on them..

    Thanks, this only happened recently when the truck was undercoated but i doubt it had anything to do with it

    I gotta check my torque to see if they backed out I know they were set right cuz I watched david set them but mine look they same on both sides. I just thought thats the way they were. I also have the sqeaks.

    Thats def causing it. My guess is the leaf is rubbing on the ubolt during compression.

    mine did the same thing. turned out the U-bolts weren't tight enough. once i got that straight its been fine for a while now

    I think its around 70 for the torque setting if Im wrong (and I allways am) someone help me out its my parents fault im retarded not mine.

    Toytec Ultimate lift, Tailgate anti-theft mod, 265/75-16 Goodyear Duratrac tires on stock rims, Lakeland Predator Cap, Rear seat headrests removed, Husky Floorliners
    I believe the correct torque for the U-Bolts is 75 ft./lb.

    After installing a lift, it is a good idea to recheck the torque on all of the suspension fasteners after 100 miles or so.

    Perfect! :) If they werent check again after 50 or so miles, they could have loosened (if the bolts stretched), causing this to happen.
